The workshop on green economy was co-organized by the Vietnam Federation of Commerce and Industry and the United States Agency for International Development.
Speaking at the opening of the workshop, Mr. Vo Tan Thanh - Vice President of the Vietnam Federation of Commerce and Industry - said that improving the investment environment towards a green economy is an important factor to attract investment, promote economic growth and is the foundation for building a sustainable economy.
Many opinions at the workshop said that the biggest difficulty for businesses in the region is accessing land, credit capital, finding partners...
Therefore, businesses believe that localities need to continue making efforts to digitally transform administrative procedures to help businesses save time and create an equal business environment for businesses.
Local authorities consider this a long-term and challenging story. Because, in order to move towards a green economy and sustainable development, localities need many businesses to come and invest.
Towards a green economy from new projects
Meanwhile, Ms. Dang Hong Hanh - co-founder and CEO of Energy and Environment Consulting Joint Stock Company - assessed that Vietnam is going downhill in terms of energy transition and motivation. Localities need to issue policies and plans to attract investment to promote creative initiatives related to greenhouse gas emission reduction and low-carbon technology.
Mr. Cao Thanh Thuong - Deputy Head of the Binh Dinh Economic Zone Management Board - said that in order to move towards a green economy, the unit always sets environmental protection requirements for projects and investors. Newly attracted projects are required to use new, environmentally friendly production technology.
