There are currently about 500 Vietnamese people living and working in Israel, mostly in big cities, the rest scattered in many areas.

On October 12, Vietnamese Ambassador to Israel Ly Duc Trung informed that there are 15 trainees studying at the international agricultural training center Israel Agrostudies and living near the town of Sredot in southern Israel. This is an area near the Gaza Strip, which is at high risk in the conflict between Hamas and Israel.

The trainees were divided into small groups and moved to Malakhi, about 40 km from the Gaza Strip, to ensure safety in the coming days.

In the face of the complicated and unpredictable Hamas-Israel conflict, with many negative developments, the Ambassador called on the Vietnamese community to establish regional working groups to support each other. The focal point of each group will send information to the Embassy's emergency response team for timely coordination, information updates, and specific instructions when necessary.

The Vietnamese Embassy in Israel recommends that the Vietnamese community here remain calm. It is recommended that people strictly comply with the regulations and instructions of the local government and competent agencies regarding security and safety; and maintain regular contact with the Embassy, especially in case of emergency.

Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Pham Thu Hang said that Vietnam is closely following and is deeply concerned about the escalating violence. Vietnam calls on relevant parties to exercise restraint, not to take actions that complicate the situation, and to soon resume negotiations to resolve disagreements through peaceful means, on the basis of international law and relevant resolutions of the United Nations Security Council, ensuring the safety and legitimate interests of civilians.

The conflict between Hamas and Israel has left more than 1,300 people dead in Israel and more than 2,200 dead in the Gaza Strip.
