Could you please assess the significance of Vietnam's participation in the expanded G7 Summit in Hiroshima, Japan?
At the invitation of Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh will attend the upcoming G7 Summit in Hiroshima, Japan. The Vietnamese Prime Minister's attendance at this Summit is of great significance to Vietnam in many aspects.
First of all, the G7 Summit is an important international forum, bringing together leaders of the seven leading industrialized countries and prestigious countries and international organizations to discuss and promote cooperation in addressing global issues. This is the third time Vietnam has been invited to attend the G7 Summit in the past seven years. This reflects the positive recognition of the G7 countries and the international community for Vietnam's position, prestige, and efforts and positive, responsible contributions to promoting international cooperation in addressing global challenges in recent times.
At the upcoming G7 Summit, Vietnam will continue to affirm its consistent stance and make every effort to work with the international community to propose and implement practical and effective measures to strengthen global and regional cooperation in maintaining peace and stability, promoting recovery and sustainable development after the Covid-19 pandemic, as well as addressing global issues on the basis of equality and mutual benefit such as ensuring energy security, food security, combating climate change, disease prevention, gender equality, etc. Vietnam is determined to effectively implement its commitments to join hands in solving common issues of the world and the region, such as the commitment to reduce net emissions to "0" by 2050.
By attending the Conference, we will share our development experience from the perspective of a country that is promoting industrialization, modernization and comprehensive and deep international integration; at the same time, we also hope that the G7 countries and the countries attending the Conference will share lessons, good practices, and effective ways of dealing with global issues as well as challenges to sustainable development, especially for developing countries.
In terms of bilateral relations, this is the second time Japan, as the host of the G7, has invited Vietnam to attend the expanded G7 Summit. It is even more meaningful that Vietnam's attendance at this Summit coincides with the two countries' 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations. This is a vivid demonstration of the high political trust between the two countries as well as the strong and comprehensive development of the Vietnam-Japan Extensive Strategic Partnership; at the same time, it demonstrates that the two countries share common ground and interests in many international and regional issues.
On the occasion of the conference, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh will hold talks with Prime Minister Kishida Fumio, meet with Japanese leaders, businesses and friends to discuss directions and measures to create new momentum for the Vietnam - Japan Extensive Strategic Partnership to continue to develop more strongly and effectively, better serve the interests of the people of the two countries as well as contribute more positively to peace, stability and cooperation for development in the region and the world.
In addition, attending the Conference is also an opportunity for Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh to meet with leaders of countries and international organizations to promote bilateral cooperation and discuss issues of mutual concern.

2023 marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Japan. Could you please tell us how Vietnam wishes to continue to build and develop the relationship between the two countries in the future? In which areas does Vietnam wish to cooperate more deeply with Japan?
Vietnam and Japan have many cultural similarities. People-to-people exchanges have been formed and developed for a long time in history. Since the two countries established diplomatic relations 50 years ago, although the world and the region have experienced many ups and downs, the friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and Japan has developed remarkably and extensively in all fields of politics, economics, defense, security, culture - society, people-to-people exchanges, etc.
Up to now, the sincere feelings, mutual trust and spirit of the extensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and Japan have spread widely in cooperation in all fields between all levels, sectors and people of the two countries. Japan is Vietnam's leading economic partner, the partner providing the most ODA to Vietnam, the third largest partner in FDI investment and tourism, and the fourth largest in trade exchange.
We hope that the bilateral relationship will continue to develop deeply and sustainably based on the foundation of political trust, economic efficiency and rich people-to-people, cultural and social exchanges, meeting the aspirations and interests of the people of the two countries.
To do so, the two countries need to continue to increase the exchange of visits by their leaders, deepen political-diplomatic, defense and security cooperation to further consolidate political trust, contribute to the development of each country as well as to peace, stability, cooperation and development in the region and the world.

Vietnam is striving to realize its vision and development goals of becoming an upper-middle-income country with modern industry by 2030 and a developed, high-income country by 2045. As a sincere friend and trusted partner, Vietnam hopes that Japan will strengthen cooperation and provide practical support for Vietnam to realize these goals.
In the immediate future, the two countries will continue to expand and improve the effectiveness of economic cooperation, especially cooperation in economic recovery after the Covid-19 pandemic, diversify supply chains, continue to promote the effective and substantive implementation of signed bilateral agreements and treaties, especially the Vietnam-Japan Economic Partnership Agreement, CPTPP, RCEP... We are ready to work with Japan to find new directions and new cooperation mechanisms in areas with great potential for the two countries such as science and technology, innovation, digital transformation, green growth, and clean energy.
We appreciate Japan's commitment to provide new-generation ODA to Vietnam to develop strategic infrastructure for transportation, combat climate change, and develop high-quality human resources, and encourage Japanese enterprises to expand investment in Vietnam in the fields of supporting industries, high-tech industries, agricultural modernization, environment, etc.
In addition, it is necessary to continue to expand and deepen cooperation in education - training, health, culture, tourism and exchanges between localities and people of the two countries with increasingly diverse forms, higher quality and efficiency. In the immediate future, the two countries will closely coordinate to organize practical exchange activities to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
With a solid foundation of friendship, sincerity and mutual trust as well as the determination and efforts of the leaders and people of the two countries, the Vietnam - Japan extensive strategic partnership will become increasingly strong and effective, for the prosperity of each country and make positive contributions to peace, stability, cooperation and development in the region and the world.
