(NLDO) - Bus stations and train stations have made plans to coordinate vehicles and increase human resources to ensure people's travel is convenient and safe.
On the afternoon of February 2 (the 5th day of Tet), the atmosphere at the Eastern Bus Station, Western Bus Station and Saigon Railway Station became bustling as thousands of passengers from other provinces and cities flocked to Ho Chi Minh City after the Tet holiday.
According to the reporter of Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper , from early afternoon, the number of passenger buses arriving continuously, dragging along people with luggage, creating a crowded and somewhat overloaded scene at the major bus stations.
At Mien Tay Bus Station (Binh Tan District, Ho Chi Minh City), passenger buses from the Southwest region line up to wait at the station to drop off passengers. In the parking lot, the sound of car horns, loudspeaker announcements, and the bustling sounds of people create a bustling atmosphere.
Many passengers rushed to find transportation home as soon as they got off the train, while some took the opportunity to rest after the long journey.

Ms. Quach Thu Ngan, a passenger from Rach Gia (Kien Giang) returning to Ho Chi Minh City, said that this year the number of people returning to the city is much higher than in previous years. Even though she booked her ticket a month in advance, she still had difficulty choosing a seat on the bus. "I thought that if I booked early, I would be able to choose my seat comfortably, but this year there were too many passengers so I still had to endure the situation of not having the seat I wanted," Ms. Ngan shared.
Not only bus stations, Saigon Railway Station is also in a similar situation when trains continuously bring people back to Ho Chi Minh City after a long holiday.
Passengers got off the train with all kinds of luggage, from large suitcases to bags of souvenirs from home. Many families immediately found taxis or motorbike taxis to go home as soon as they got off the train, while some passengers took the opportunity to call their relatives to inform them of the news.
Tran Minh Hai, a passenger from Hanoi, said he decided to take the train instead of the plane this year because the airfare after Tet was too high. "The train is a bit crowded, but the ticket price is stable and does not increase suddenly like the airfare," Hai said.
It is forecasted that in the coming days, the number of passengers will continue to increase as people from the provinces continue to return to Ho Chi Minh City to prepare for work and study after the Tet holiday. Bus and train stations have made plans to coordinate vehicles and increase human resources to ensure people's travel is convenient and safe.
