The images of boats and wharves have always been linked together as two inseparable subjects, especially in folk songs and profound songs. The boats quietly leave the wharves in the early morning on the calm river, then return to the old waiting wharves, gathering together in one place.
Along the length of the S-shaped country, boats and docks appear almost everywhere. Sometimes the boats line up close to the Trang An dock, waiting for passengers to arrive.
Sometimes you can watch a few dugout canoes in the sunset on the peaceful Lak Lake. Sometimes you can listen to the sound of oars splashing water from a boat reflecting on the peaceful and poetic Hoai River, or see the "mobile homes" of people on Cai Rang floating market in the early evening.
The boat, from a means of transportation, has become a place to make a living and a place to live for people living on the river all year round.
