In the early morning of December 26, frost continued to appear at the top of Fansipan (Sa Pa town, Lao Cai province). This image was quickly shared on social networks, attracting the attention of tourists.
This is the fifth time frost has appeared on Fansipan peak in 2023. According to recorded images, a thin layer of ice covers the Amitabha Buddha statue, located at an altitude of about 2,900m above sea level. The ice also forms on wooden floors, fences, stairs, and trees, creating an impressive image.
At around 6am on December 26, the temperature on top of Fansipan was minus 3 degrees Celsius, and a thick layer of ice covered the area from the Upper Pagoda to the top of Fansipan. By 7:40am this morning, the temperature gradually increased and the ice melted.
"This is the fifth time ice and snow have appeared on Fansipan peak this year. This is the thickest and longest snow and ice of the year. After the ice melts, Fansipan has a beautiful sea of clouds. This is an interesting phenomenon and attracts tourists," said Mr. Nguyen Anh Vu, Deputy Director of Sun World Fansipan Legend.
It is forecasted that in the coming days, the temperature on the top of Fansipan will continue to remain below zero at night, and frost may still appear. In the morning, it will be sunny, the ice will melt, and then the sea of clouds will be very beautiful.
