Shooter Le Thi Mong Tuyen was in the top 8 of the women's 10m air rifle qualifying round at the 2024 Asian Shooting Championship in Indonesia on the afternoon of January 10. She advanced to the final with opponents from India, China, Singapore, South Korea and Iran.
Since India, China and South Korea all have a maximum of two athletes qualifying for the 2024 Olympics, Mong Tuyen, along with two athletes Natanya Huiyi Tan (Singapore) and Amini Pozveh (Iran), are competing directly for tickets to the Paris Olympics.

Entering the final, the Singaporean shooter was eliminated early due to only ranking 8th overall. That helped Mong Tuyen (ranked 5th) and the Iranian shooter (ranked 6th) officially qualify for the Olympic arena.
Le Thi Mong Tuyen is the second Vietnamese shooting athlete to win a ticket to the 2024 Olympics after shooter Trinh Thi Thu Vinh.
Up to this point, Vietnamese sports have 4 places to participate in the 2024 Olympics: Nguyen Thi That (cycling), Nguyen Huy Hoang (swimming), Trinh Thu Vinh and Le Thi Mong Tuyen (shooting).
