Taking advantage of favorable weather after the Lunar New Year, people in Vu Quang district (Ha Tinh) urgently planted new acacia areas after exploitation.

In the days after Tet, on the hillsides of Huong Minh commune, people are busy planting acacia. According to the people, the beginning of the year is the right time to plant acacia, because after Tet, the hill soil is often soft thanks to previous spring rains, so planting acacia is more favorable than in other seasons. In particular, thanks to favorable weather, planting acacia at the beginning of the new year helps the trees grow faster.

Acacia planting brings a good income to people in Huong Minh commune.

On her family's hill of more than 2 hectares, Ms. Tran Thi Hong (Hop Duan village, Huong Minh commune) is quickly filling the soil around the newly planted acacia trees so that the trees can take root soon. Ms. Hong said: "To prepare for the spring acacia planting, before Tet, my family proactively processed the ground cover and dug holes. With the available land, taking advantage of the warm sunny days after Tet, my family hired 4 more workers to focus on planting more than 2 hectares of spring acacia. After more than 4 days of operation, we have "greened" more than 1 hectare, and it is expected that in about a week, the entire area will be planted."

According to Ms. Hong, although the waiting time for harvest is quite long, from 4 to 5 years, growing acacia brings a stable income for people. Currently, 1 hectare of acacia is purchased by traders at a price of 70 to 80 million VND.
