Here, the delegates reviewed the tradition of the Vietnam Veterans Association. After more than half a century of resistance against foreign invaders, the whole country has nearly 4 million veterans, including comrades who participated in: the Red Self-Defense Team in the Nghe Tinh Soviet Movement in 1930 - 1931; the Bac Son Guerrilla Team, the Nam Ky Guerrilla Team, the National Salvation Army, the Vietnam Propaganda Liberation Army, the Ba To Guerrilla Team...
After completing their glorious mission in the armed forces, millions of war veterans have returned to the home front, returned to their families or changed careers to work in Party and State agencies or in the fields of economics, culture, science... Wherever they are, whatever their positions, whatever their jobs, war veterans continue to promote the qualities of "Uncle Ho's soldiers" to contribute to the revolutionary cause.
In response to the legitimate aspirations of war veterans nationwide, on December 6, 1989, based on the submission of the Secretariat, the Politburo, and the Party Central Committee (term VI) decided to establish the Vietnam War Veterans Association and determined the Vietnam War Veterans Association as a socio-political organization under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam.

Chairman of the Provincial Association of War Veterans Nguyen Duc Thuan spoke at the ceremony. |
Over the time of establishment and development, the Association of War Veterans of Bac Giang province has always strived to build a strong Association in terms of politics, ideology and organization, holding an important position in the political system of the Party and government, being an active member of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee, always encouraging war veterans and former soldiers in the whole province to maintain the qualities of "Uncle Ho's soldiers", contributing with the whole Party, the whole people and the whole army to build and firmly protect the Fatherland.
Speaking here, comrade Nguyen Van Gau acknowledged, congratulated and commended the results and achievements that the provincial Association of War Veterans at all levels and members have achieved in the past time. Wherever they are, whatever work they do, the War Veterans always preserve and promote the noble qualities of "Uncle Ho's soldiers", being exemplary, responsible and devoted. He emphasized that in the comprehensive and strong development of Bac Giang province in recent times, there has been a significant contribution from the cadres and members of the War Veterans Association; especially in the work of ensuring political security, social order and safety, improving the lives of members and people, and building the great national unity bloc.
In the coming time, to continue improving the quality and efficiency of operations, contributing to the successful implementation of the province's political tasks, comrade Nguyen Van Gau suggested that cadres and members of the Veterans Association at all levels continue to promote the qualities of "Uncle Ho's soldiers". Strengthen propaganda and mobilize people to effectively implement the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws, and those of local Party committees and authorities.
Recently, the Party Central Committee and General Secretary To Lam have frequently emphasized the message about the era of the Vietnamese people's rise. That is the era of strong development under the leadership and rule of the Communist Party of Vietnam, successfully building a socialist Vietnam, a rich people, a strong country, a democratic, fair and civilized society. All people have a prosperous and happy life, are supported to develop and enrich themselves; contribute more and more to the peace, stability and development of the world, and the happiness of humanity.
To successfully realize the era of national rise, the key factor is still the human factor. The Veterans Association at all levels needs to arouse in its cadres and members, and spread among the people the spirit of self-reliance, self-confidence, self-reliance, self-strengthening, and national pride. Respond to the era of national rise with practical and effective actions.
Each cadre and member must first set an example and encourage their relatives and local residents to comply with the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's laws, respect the law, and unite to create the strength of the Party's will and the people's hearts; always be concerned with finding a suitable economic development model, legitimate enrichment, building a cultural family and a civilized society; and together with the whole country, step by step successfully realize the aspiration for national strength and the era of national development.
Comrade Nguyen Van Gau awarded the Vietnam Veterans Association Commemorative Medal to comrades who have made many contributions to the development of the Vietnam Veterans Association. |
At the same time, a very important task that the central and local levels will focus on implementing in December and in the first quarter of 2025 is the task of innovating and streamlining the apparatus of the political system. This is an urgent and important task, something that must be done, the faster the better for the country and the people. However, this is also a very difficult task because it is related to the organization and people. The Association of War Veterans needs to focus on summarizing the implementation of Resolution No. 18-NQ/TW of the Central Executive Committee according to plan. Pay attention to grasping the ideological situation, actively propagating so that cadres and party members understand the major policies and the revolution in the apparatus organization. Accompany the Party Committee and the government to propagate and do well the political and ideological work for the contingent of cadres and party members, especially those who are relatives and children of war veterans, clearly identifying the readiness to sacrifice personal interests to streamline the apparatus.
Focus on innovating content and methods and improving the quality and efficiency of operations to meet requirements and tasks in the new situation. Actively promote the core role in implementing political tasks, participating in socio-economic development, ensuring local defense and security.
Further promote the representative role, care for and protect the legitimate rights and interests of members and war veterans. Pay attention to supporting and helping war veterans to eliminate hunger and reduce poverty, actively participate in production, business and legitimate enrichment. Coordinate with all levels and sectors to effectively implement policies and regimes to care for the lives of members and war veterans.
Take care to build clean and strong organizations at all levels in terms of politics, ideology and organization. Promote the role, improve the quality and effectiveness of supervision and social criticism activities, participate in giving opinions on Party building, government building, and contribute opinions to documents of Party congresses at all levels for the 2025-2030 term and the documents of the 19th National Congress of the Party.
He requested that all levels and sectors in the province continue to pay attention, strengthen leadership, direction, coordination, and create favorable conditions for the War Veterans Association to perform its functions and tasks well in the new situation.
On this occasion, the Provincial Veterans Association awarded the Vietnam Veterans Medal to 9 comrades who have made many contributions to the development of the Vietnam Veterans Association.
