Since the liberation, with the tradition of heroic struggle, trained and tested in the revolutionary struggle, the entire Party, the entire army and the entire people of Khanh Hoa have focused on overcoming the consequences of war, gradually restoring and developing the economy. In the past 10 years, Khanh Hoa has maintained a fairly high growth rate, the economic structure has shifted in a positive direction. The Party Committee and the provincial government have paid attention to leading and directing the completion of development policies and institutions, promptly concretizing and proactively implementing the mechanisms, policies and resources of the Central Government, the National Assembly and the Government for the province.

In particular, after the Covid-19 pandemic, the province's economy grew negatively, but with the high determination of the entire political system, the province's economy quickly recovered and grew again. The province's GRDP in the period of 2021 - 2024 increased by an average of 8.1%/year, of which 3 consecutive years from 2022 - 2024 achieved double-digit growth (GRDP in 2022 increased by 18.9%, the highest in the country; in 2023 increased by 10.17%, ranked 4th in the country; in 2024 increased by 10.16%, ranked 7th in the country). The scale of the province's economy has gradually increased, in 2024, the province's GRDP (current price) reached 128.7 trillion VND, ranked 27th in the country. Economic restructuring has been associated with growth model innovation, towards balancing and diversifying growth drivers; gradually becoming a growth pole of the South Central Coast and Central Highlands regions.
Along with that, infrastructure is increasingly invested in and developed synchronously, the appearance of urban, rural and mountainous areas has improved a lot, especially traffic infrastructure with highways, inter-regional and coastal roads with resources focused to speed up the completion progress. The fields of culture, society, health and education are increasingly innovated with the spirit of serving the people. By the end of 2024, the poverty rate in the province will be 1.26%; Khanh Son and Khanh Vinh districts have been recognized as escaping poverty. The whole province currently has 73/90 communes meeting new rural standards; the rate of trained workers is estimated at 85%, of which the rate of workers with degrees and certificates is estimated at 31%; the unemployment rate of working-age workers in urban areas is below 3.5%. National defense and security are maintained; protection of sea and island sovereignty is strengthened.
Mr. Nguyen Tan Tuan - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee said that over the 50 years of national reunification and the liberation of Khanh Hoa, the province has had remarkable changes, the appearance of the province has changed dramatically, the socio-economy has increasingly developed, national defense and security have been maintained, and the lives of people in the province have been constantly improved. In particular, on January 28, 2022, the Politburo issued Resolution No. 09 on building and developing Khanh Hoa province to 2030, with a vision to 2045. Along with that, the National Assembly issued Resolution No. 55/2022 on piloting a number of specific mechanisms and policies for the development of Khanh Hoa province. This is considered the key for the province to successfully implement Resolution No. 09 of the Politburo, creating a breakthrough to mobilize all resources, effectively exploit the potentials and strengths of the province, contributing to achieving the goals set by the Politburo. With the central policies and mechanisms for Khanh Hoa, it will certainly create greater breakthroughs in the coming years.
Elevate development
Although Khanh Hoa has made great strides in its development journey over the past time, and the appearance of the province has changed dramatically, in order to fully exploit the province's potential and strengths, in the coming years, Khanh Hoa aims to continue to grow at a higher rate. The next 10 years will be a decade of continuous double-digit growth; in which, striving for GRDP growth in 2025 to reach 10.5% and in the period of 2026 - 2030 to reach 11 - 11.5%.
To achieve this goal, the province has identified priorities for promoting economic growth; accelerating the restructuring of economic sectors in association with growth model innovation, improving productivity, quality, efficiency, competitiveness, autonomy, adaptability and resilience; accelerating the disbursement of public investment capital, striving for an annual disbursement rate of over 95% of the plan assigned by the Prime Minister. At the same time, effectively attracting strategic investors in the fields of industry, urban areas, tourism, logistics, innovation, etc.; closely monitoring the progress of investment projects, ensuring implementation on schedule as committed; effectively exploiting opportunities from signed free trade agreements; expanding and diversifying export markets; developing e-commerce; logistics and transportation services, especially air transport and sea transport.
Along with that, the province continues to strengthen regional connectivity and international cooperation; focus on developing dynamic regions, including: Nha Trang City, Cam Ranh Bay area, Van Phong Economic Zone; focus on investing in completing and synchronizing the infrastructure system, especially key and inter-regional traffic infrastructure such as: Van Phong - Nha Trang Expressway, Khanh Hoa - Buon Ma Thuot Expressway Phase 1, upgrading and expanding National Highway 26B, traffic routes from National Highway 27C to Provincial Road DT.656 of Khanh Hoa province - connecting with Lam Dong province and Ninh Thuan province... The province coordinates with the Central Government to speed up the investment progress of the high-speed railway section from Ho Chi Minh City to Nha Trang; expand Cam Ranh International Airport; synchronously invest in and complete essential infrastructure works to serve Van Phong Economic Zone; effectively implement the Khanh Hoa Provincial Planning for the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050; Complete coverage of zoning plans, construction plans, and urban plans.
In addition, the province will focus on streamlining the State apparatus towards streamlining, compactness, strength, efficiency, effectiveness and efficiency; seriously and effectively deploying the job position project and the set of tools to measure and evaluate results and work efficiency (KPI) to create a substantial and objective change in the implementation of public services.
