Rather than continue investing in a product that might be less competitive, Apple opted for a partnership. The company had talks with both Google and OpenAI, but ultimately decided to 'join hands' with OpenAI, the company that owns the ChatGPT product with superior intelligence.
This cooperation is considered a wise move by Apple, helping them quickly access and apply advanced artificial intelligence (AI) technology to their products without spending too much time and development resources.
Although there are no details about the collaboration, it is likely that Apple will integrate ChatGPT's features into Siri, making this virtual assistant smarter and more useful. In addition, iOS 18 may also be supplemented with new features based on OpenAI's AI technology.
Official information about this collaboration is expected to be announced by Apple at the upcoming WWDC 2024 event.
