The latest news from the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting said that a tropical depression (TLD) is active in the sea east of Luzon Island (Philippines). The strongest wind near the center of the TLD is level 6-7, gusting to level 9.
The Hydrometeorological Agency said that in the next 24 hours, the tropical depression will move westward at a speed of 15-20km/hour. The intensity of the tropical depression is forecast to increase to level 7, gusting to level 9 and is likely to strengthen into a storm.
To proactively respond to the developments of the tropical depression, on the afternoon of September 16, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development sent a telegram requesting ministries, branches, and Chairmen of People's Committees of coastal provinces and cities from Quang Ninh to Binh Thuan to continue to closely monitor the developments of the tropical depression.
The immediate key task is to strictly manage vehicles going out to sea; organize counting and notify owners of vehicles and captains of ships and boats operating at sea of the location, direction of movement and developments of natural disasters so that they can proactively avoid, escape or not move into dangerous areas.
The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development also requested ministries, provinces and cities to prepare forces and means for rescue when requested. At the same time, strengthen measures to inform authorities at all levels, owners of vessels operating at sea and people about the developments of natural disasters to proactively prevent and respond.
