NDO - According to preliminary statistics, storm No. 3 (international name Yagi) has caused about 25 thousand trees in the capital to break and fall, causing significant damage to people, houses and vehicles. In the face of the large amount of damaged trees, causing the storm's recovery work to be prolonged, for many days now, the capital's youth have assigned forces to continuously participate in cleanup, contributing to restoring the urban landscape and stabilizing people's lives.

Volunteers clean up broken and fallen trees in front of the gate of the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports.

According to Secretary of Hoan Kiem District Youth Union Tran Kim Huyen, coordination with functional forces to handle the consequences of storm No. 3 in the district has been deployed since September 10.

However, due to the large amount of broken and fallen trees and the lack of specialized equipment, the handling and cleanup has had to be carried out continuously for many days.

Hoan Kiem District Youth Union has connected with the Youth Union and Student Associations of universities and colleges in the area to increase the local volunteer force.

Therefore, the volunteers will wear different colors. However, they all share the same pioneering spirit for a bright, green, clean and beautiful capital.

Every day, the volunteer forces will be divided into 2 shifts: morning from 7:30 to 11:30, afternoon from 13:30 to 17:00.

Each shift has the participation of about 30-50 union members, youth and student volunteers. The young people are divided into 3-4 mobile teams to carry out the work in the most scientific way.

The process of carrying out the task of the "blue shirt" force is divided into 4 stages. In which, the first stage is to saw and cut the large broken or fallen tree stump.

Next, the volunteers will continue to saw and cut smaller branches.

The final two stages include: classifying branches, leaves and large tree trunks; transporting them to specialized vehicles for processing.

During the implementation of the mission, the positions can be flexibly changed depending on the actual situation. However, the most important principle, strictly and consistently implemented, is to ensure absolute safety for volunteers.

Facing the spirit of shock, pioneering, creativity and initiative of the youth of districts and towns in the capital, the Hanoi Youth Union has deployed a working delegation to visit, encourage and give gifts to support volunteers in carrying out their tasks.

Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi Youth Union Tran Quang Hung participated in cleaning up and recovering from the consequences of storm No. 3 with union members, youth volunteers and functional forces of the capital.
