Experts say the statement of donations to flood victims has unmasked many hypocrites, show-offs, and fakers, but also revealed true values, people who spoke the truth and acted the truth.
Over the past few days, the hearts of the whole country have turned to the North, which has been severely affected by storm No. 3. Many images and information from the flooded areas have made us feel heartbroken with grief, pain and loss.
Besides sharing and noble gestures, the fact that some individuals forged receipts of donations to the Northern people and embezzled charity money caused much controversy.
Using charity to attract views is insensitive.
Talk to Reporter and cultural researcher Ngo Huong Giang believes that the act of forging charity receipts to show off on social networks is not simply a consequence of a virtual lifestyle and reckless view-seeking, but also of people's indifference towards their fellow countrymen.
According to experts, volunteer activities in Vietnamese culture originate from the noble act of "loving others as you love yourself", solidarity, mutual support, "the whole leaves cover the torn leaves/ the less torn leaves cover the more torn leaves", and mutual support, affectionately calling each other compatriots.
Obviously, that act of kindness was never an act of asking or giving, but rather the conscience of the more fortunate towards the less fortunate.
“Any behavior that sees the pain of one’s fellow countrymen as an opportunity or excuse to promote one’s name through charity activities is inhumane, anti-human, and goes against the lifestyle and cultural behavior of Vietnamese people. This behavior is not simply a virtual lifestyle, recklessly attracting views, but also shows people’s indifference towards their fellow countrymen,” the expert commented.
Experts assess the consequences of using charity to attract views and live a virtual life is to damage the noble meaning of the two words charity.
“This behavior also reduces the strength of solidarity, and the support for our compatriots who are facing many difficulties due to natural disasters and war. And then, the indifference from virtual life will make good people in society become hesitant and cautious about volunteer activities. This is the core of the problem,” Mr. Ngo Huong Giang shared.

Who is afraid of statements?
After the Central Committee of the Fatherland Front released tens of thousands of pages of statements of donations to people affected by storms and floods, many truths came to light.
There are individuals who donate hundreds of millions or billions of dong without anyone knowing their faces or even their names, but there are also people who donate 10,000 dong and inflate it hundreds of times to "fake" their name.
The incident was so noisy that there was a suggestion that this should be considered a "Vietnam Banner" or "Statement Congress" day.
Discussing this issue, cultural researcher Ngo Huong Giang said that the positive aspect of the statement activity is to make the income and expenditure in the charity process transparent.
However, if we focus on the issue of statements and forget the most important meaning of volunteer activities, which is the timely response, both materially and spiritually, to people in difficulty, then all statements are meaningless.
“Material wealth is not necessarily the issue in times of storms and floods, but the heart of the volunteer must be timely and on time. Sometimes, the statement is just a matter of procedure. Just save people and do it with all your heart. I believe that no one is harsh on good people who have just saved you from difficulties and dangers. Only individuals who consider volunteer activities as an opportunity to profit have to make statements, are afraid to do good deeds, are afraid to go into the flood center to save people,” said Mr. Ngo Huong Giang.
Let's talk with Reporter , media crisis management expert Le Ngoc Son - Chairman of Berlin Crisis Solutions (BCS) Reputation Management Company - said that the recent statement has unmasked many hypocrites, show-offs, and fakers, but also revealed true values, people who spoke the truth and acted the truth.
According to expert Le Ngoc Son, we should look at things from a positive perspective, instead of focusing on exposing and exposing individuals who are pretentious, deceitful, and deceitful.
“The statement case not only exposes the lies but also touches the heart of the spirit of mutual love, reaching out to the flood victims, and is an inspiring image of the spirit of volunteerism that is being replicated in the community. I think that charity work is a natural need of many individuals. Obviously, the effect of transferring money to support difficult circumstances, calling for charity, and volunteerism has been and is being actively activated in the community,” the expert emphasized.
