- What was the chance for you to know about the movie "Peach, Pho and Piano"?

All by chance, I usually surf the internet to watch clips about history, accidentally saw a video about the behind-the-scenes of the movie Dao, Pho and Piano. The short clips introducing the carefully staged behind-the-scenes scenes impressed me and I also wanted everyone to see it.

In addition, when I learned that the film had been shown 4-5 days ago but there were only 2-3 showings per day, I was very shocked. My feelings at that time were both regretful and hasty, I just wanted to let everyone know right away so they could watch the film before the showtimes ran out.

But unexpectedly, that video became a trend. Honestly, now people mention and comment on that clip a lot, but I still find it strange, not understanding why the clip is so widely spread on social networks.

- Being welcomed by the Government Information fanpage and actor Doan Quoc Dam - the male lead of "Peach, Pho and Piano" sent a public thank you, how do you feel?

Of course I was happy, but mostly surprised. I didn't think what I did was something big or significant enough to be encouraged by everyone like that. Sometimes I even felt embarrassed because there were many things I didn't know, and if I said the wrong thing, it would have a big impact.

I think I myself cannot “stir up” and make this movie famous. The movie is hot because of its historical elements, patriotism and the romanticism of Hanoi people.

Actually, I'm just a person who makes movie schedule "viral". Especially for history lovers, people are waiting for the movie to be released in theaters to watch but don't know the schedule. I think my clip came out at the right time for people to need it.

- Did the feedback from some audiences that the movie wasn't as good as expected affect you?

The truth is yes. After watching the movie, I myself realized that this was not necessarily a good movie, not meeting my own wishes and desires.

But after looking at the issue from many angles, I still don't regret calling on everyone to go to the cinema. Even if the film is shown for free in the future, everyone should still go to the cinema to watch it because Dao, Pho and Piano bring a very positive effect on the spirit.

Actually, 45-50 thousand VND is not high for adults, most people can afford it. As for young people, each movie ticket is only equivalent to a cup of milk tea.

The important thing is that those ticket prices are not only to pay the distributor and producer, but also the cost we pay for quality historical films in the future.

- What are the things that make you regret in "Peach, Pho and Piano"?

Unlike many viewers, before coming to watch, I was very impressed with the magnificent backstage and realistic explosion scenes posted.

That's why I misunderstood about a blockbuster movie, a battlefield of a big battle. But in reality, because of budget issues, the movie only revolves around small battlefields. This is because I had too high expectations and forgot that the author himself reminded us that this is a historical, romantic movie because of the name Dao, Pho and Piano.

- Can you elaborate on the romance you felt in this movie?

Strangely, I found the most romance in the character of the painter. At the beginning of the film, he appeared as a funny person, but I could still feel his sadness. The smoke and fire of war had cast a layer of gray over the artist’s soul.

But when the main male and female characters came together after many hardships, I saw his eyes light up, and he started to paint. He was immersed in his art, feeling the layers of dust gradually falling, and the light of artistic inspiration through years of fire and smoke once again appeared in his eyes.

Vietnamese people are "thirsty" for historical films

- When people mentioned you so much and you became a social media phenomenon attached to the movie, did you feel pressured?

There was definitely pressure. For 3 years of making historical content on social media, my videos still had 10-20 thousand views. I was used to it, but suddenly the number of views and followers increased dramatically, making me worried. I didn't know if there were any mistakes in the content I made, and I doubted myself more.

And maybe I have to change the way I create content. Before, there were few followers, the content was not popular, so if I said something wrong, I could quickly correct it. But now, the number of people interested in history has increased, so I will have to be more careful and meticulous when creating content.

- After the recent event, what do you feel you have gained and lost?

I feel like I have gained a lot and lost nothing. Thanks to the power of social media, I believe that history and films that explore this topic will attract more and more people, especially young people.

I'm sure that through the Peach, Pho and Piano craze, filmmakers will find history a gold mine to exploit.

- As a young person who loves and is working in the field of history, what is your biggest expectation about historical films?

I hope that the next films will invest more in setting and costumes so that viewers will have the most accurate and clear view of our country's culture at that time.

Second is the plot, historical films are made to nurture the soul, a good plot that touches the hearts of the majority of young people is very necessary. The simpler, easier to understand, and closer the film content is, the better.
