On the afternoon of June 16, speaking with VietNamNet reporter, Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Tran Tuan, Chief of Police of Krong Buk District (Dak Lak) confirmed that up to now, a total of 8 subjects have surrendered. The subjects who surrendered are very young, some were even born in 2000 and most of them reside in Cu Pong Commune.
"We are coordinating with the authorities to continue to arrest the related subjects, while at the same time propagating and mobilizing the subjects to surrender to receive leniency," said the Chief of Police of Krong Buk district.
Earlier, in the early morning of June 11, a group of people used guns and petrol bombs to attack the headquarters of Ea Tieu and Ea Ktur communes (Cu Kuin district), killing 4 police officers and 2 commune officials; 3 civilians were killed. The attack also seriously injured 2 police officers.
Immediately afterwards, the Ministry of Public Security directed the Dak Lak Provincial Police and other professional units to quickly arrest the group of subjects. By the afternoon of June 16, more than 50 subjects responsible for the incident had been arrested.
