On June 23, Lieutenant General To An Xo, spokesman for the Ministry of Public Security, confirmed: Dak Lak Provincial Police have just issued a decision to prosecute the case of "terrorism aimed at opposing the people's government; concealing criminals; failing to report criminals and organizing and brokering for others to illegally exit, enter or stay in Vietnam".
At the same time, the authorities issued decisions to prosecute and order the temporary detention of 75 defendants for the crime of "terrorism against the people's government; prosecuted 7 defendants for the crime of not reporting a crime, 1 defendant for the crime of concealing a crime; 1 defendant for the crime of organizing and brokering for others to illegally exit, enter or stay in Vietnam".
The above decisions to prosecute the accused and the Order to temporarily detain the accused have been approved by the People's Procuracy at the same level.
Earlier, on the morning of June 11, a group of armed people attacked the headquarters of Ea Tieu and Ea Ktur communes, Cu Kuin district, killing 4 commune police officers; 2 commune officers were sacrificed, 3 civilians were killed and 2 commune police officers were seriously injured.
The Ministry of Public Security assessed that this was a terrorist attack aimed at opposing the people's government, causing particularly serious consequences. The subjects' actions were very barbaric and inhumane, demonstrating their determination to carry out the crime to the end.
The police force has documents and evidence proving that the case was also supported and directed by a number of organizations and individuals abroad, even sending subjects from abroad to illegally enter Vietnam to stage and direct terrorist attacks. The authorities are continuing to investigate and clarify to strictly handle the case in accordance with the provisions of Vietnamese law.
