7 standards create quality at TAS American International School

TAS American International School recruits teachers with international qualifications, designs balanced training content, focuses on psychology... creating a high-quality educational environment.

The school representative said that TAS trains according to the standards of the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC), and at the same time, cares about the development of students' "mind, body, and spirit". Classes here also do not have fixed class officer positions. Each week, students take turns taking on different roles. When taking on leadership roles, students are trained to be self-disciplined and to effectively assign group work.

In addition, TAS students have also collaborated with the Vietnam Heartbeat Foundation to organize the Heartbeat Bazaar event to raise funds to sponsor surgery costs for poor children with congenital diseases in Vietnam; implemented the Shoebox Appeal program to give Christmas gifts to disadvantaged children... and many other nature exploration and volunteer activities.

The third TAS standard is the idea that "grades are not the only criteria for assessment." From kindergarten to grade 2, the school does not apply a universal grading scale. Instead, teachers comment on "great job" and give smileys or stars to encourage students to complete assignments.

Children will participate in regular tests that meet American educational standards such as MAP The Measures of Academic Progress (MAP Test) to assess their overall abilities and psychology. Based on this, the team of experts will choose the appropriate class for each individual, thereby personalizing the care and teaching process. Classrooms are designed with desks and chairs that do not take up more than 1/2 of the classroom area. Most of the space is scientifically arranged for students to choose a free study corner or go to the large library to complete their personal course.

Between classes, students can choose their own break time to read, play music, swim or do any other activities they like within the allowed framework.
