Five party members in Vinh Thanh District (Binh Dinh) were disciplined with warnings, including three incumbent officials and two retired leaders.
Accordingly, the three incumbent officials include: Mr. Ly Tien Viet, Chief of Office of Vinh Thanh District Party Committee; Mr. Pham Van Thom, Deputy Head of Organization Board of Vinh Thanh District Party Committee and Mr. Dinh San, Vice Chairman of Vinh Hiep Commune Farmers' Association.
The two retired people are Mr. Tran Quoc Lai, former Chairman of Vinh Thanh District People's Committee and Mr. Tu Thanh Long, former Director of Vinh Thanh District Culture, Information and Sports Center.
The sixth person is Mr. Tu Hai, former Head of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment of Vinh Thanh District, who was removed from the position of Party cell secretary.
The 6 party members mentioned above are among 21 current and retired officials being inspected, due to their involvement in a series of violations: The case of allocating and granting certificates for more than 138 hectares of protective forest land to the family of former Secretary of Vinh Thanh District Party Committee Nguyen Dinh Kim; the case of the wife of former Chairman of Vinh Thanh District People's Committee Tran Cong Sy renting and being granted a certificate for nearly 0.8 hectares of land; the case of the nephew of former Secretary of District Party Committee Nguyen Dinh Kim renting and being granted a certificate for about 10 hectares of land; and the case of illegally leasing stadium land.
In the morning of the same day, speaking with Thanh Nien reporters, the leader of the Binh Dinh Provincial Party Committee's Inspection Committee said that in the coming time, there will be a press release about the incident. Many party members are still being inspected but the form of handling has not been announced.
As Thanh Nien reported, from 2022 to present, many cases of land allocation and leasing in the mountainous district of Vinh Thanh have been inspected by the Binh Dinh Provincial Inspectorate and determined to have signs of violations.
In particular, the case of land allocation, granting of land use right certificates, and transfer of land use right in violation of regulations caused damage to the State of 138 hectares of protective forest land related to the family of former Secretary of Vinh Thanh District Party Committee Nguyen Dinh Kim. The case file was then transferred by the Binh Dinh Provincial Inspectorate to the Investigation Police Agency of Binh Dinh Provincial Police for handling in accordance with the law.
There is also the case of Ms. Vo Thi Anh Nhan (wife of Mr. Tran Cong Sy, former Chairman of Vinh Thanh District People's Committee) renting land and being granted a red book for nearly 0.8 hectares of land in the center of Vinh Thanh Town to build a recreation, entertainment and sports center; direct leasing form without bidding or auction; lease term of 50 years; price 3,360 VND/ m2 /year.
Vinh Thanh District Culture, Information and Sports Center leased more than 0.7 hectares of stadium land to a business to build a sports, entertainment and recreation area, which is not in accordance with regulations...
