Details of the 50th anniversary celebration of national reunification

Today (April 2), the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee issued a master plan for the celebration, parade, march and activities to celebrate the 50th anniversary of national reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025).

As planned, the national celebration will take place from 6:30 a.m. on April 30 on Le Duan Street and some central streets, broadcast live on channels of Vietnam Television, Ho Chi Minh City Television and local radio and television stations.

This is an event organized by the Party Central Committee, National Assembly, President, Government, Central Committee of Vietnam Fatherland Front and Ho Chi Minh City.

At the celebration on the morning of April 30, there will be a 30-minute art program hosted by the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee in coordination with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Ministry of National Defense, and the Ministry of Public Security.

Before that, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee will direct the implementation of a number of activities. Specifically, the incense offering and flower offering ceremony to commemorate heroic martyrs will take place at 8:00 a.m. on April 29 at the Ho Chi Minh City Martyrs' Cemetery, the City Cemetery, Ben Duoc Memorial Temple, the Cu Chi District Martyrs' Cemetery, the Ho Chi Minh City Policy Cemetery, and the Nga Ba Giong National Historical Site (Hoc Mon District).

Incense and flower offering ceremony in memory of President Ho Chi Minh and President Ton Duc Thang: Central level is scheduled to be held on the afternoon of April 29; HCMC level will take place at 9:30 a.m. on April 29 at Ho Chi Minh Museum - HCMC branch, Ton Duc Thang Museum, President Ho Chi Minh Monument Park and Nguyen Hue Street.

In addition, Ho Chi Minh City organized activities to pay tribute to families of martyrs, people with meritorious services, veterans, former youth volunteers and forces participating in the 1975 Spring General Offensive and Uprising; launched a patriotic emulation movement; held a city-level seminar on the achievements of 50 years of building, protecting and developing Ho Chi Minh City; and a series of activities to summarize 50 years of Ho Chi Minh City literature and art after the country's reunification.

The 37th Ho Chi Minh City Television Cup Cycling Race - 2025 will take place at noon on April 30 with the theme "The Country and Rivers Unite". On the evening of April 30, there will be an artistic fireworks display.

In the series of events, there are a number of commemorative activities chaired by ministries and branches, in coordination with the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, such as: National scientific conference (morning of April 17); photo exhibition with the theme "Pride of a border strip" (from April 27); television bridge "Epic of Peace" (evening of April 5); outdoor art program "The Country is Full of Joy" (evening of April 20); national television bridge "Forever the Triumphal Song" (evening of April 27); special art program (evening of April 29); trumpet music performance combined with horseback riding performance (evening of April 30).
