Alcoholic beverages

Spicy food

People with acid reflux should eat their last meal a few hours before bed and avoid spicy, fatty, or highly acidic foods. Spicy foods contain a compound called capsaicin, which slows digestion in the intestines, making it difficult to sleep. High levels of capsaicin can also increase body temperature, making it easier to toss and turn.
