35 years of marriage of artist Thai Bao and his wife

After the wedding, Thai Bao - singer of "Red Flower Time" - and her husband only had a broken wardrobe door and a bed.

In March, Thai Bao posted a series of wedding photos from 35 years ago, along with a sweet message to her partner. Throughout her career, the artist has been private, rarely sharing her personal life, focusing only on her artistic activities. But on this occasion, she mentioned more about her husband, who is also in the same profession, partly to help the audience understand more about her life.

The artist's marriage is built on trust, respect, and support through all difficulties. When he was young, Thai Bao "captured the hearts" of many young men because of his beauty and sweet voice. But at that time, the 22-year-old singer was conquered by a gentle, quiet man who always exuded a manly look, Anh Tuan. The two became husband and wife after three years of dating.

Married during the subsidy period, they struggled like many other families. After the wedding, their only assets were a bed and a broken wardrobe given to them by artist Quang Vinh. Every time they got their clothes, they had to lift the wardrobe door. Thai Bao said that she and her husband would count how much they earned from performing on the bed and then be happy if they had enough money to buy meat the next day. At that time, the singer and her husband rode together on a rickety bicycle, and every time they came back from a performance, the spokes would break and they had to be repaired constantly. Recalling the early years of their marriage, Thai Bao smiled gently, saying "enough is enough" so they did not feel sad about the difficulties. Gradually, thanks to hard work, their life became better.

In 2011, Thai Bao faced a crisis when artist Anh Tuan suffered from heart disease. Five years later, he was hospitalized for surgery. Thai Bao chose to take care of her husband on her own. One time, on her way home from the hospital, she received a phone call from her sister asking about her health. Thai Bao burst into tears and could not hold back her tears. That was the only time she allowed herself to be weak when her husband was sick.

Since her husband got sick, Thai Bao has gradually changed her personality, learning to be more tolerant to have a peaceful life. About her husband, Thai Bao said he is a brave man, always conscious of taking care of his health.

In normal life, Thai Bao is loved by many people and expressed affection, but always know the limits. Therefore, Anh Tuan puts absolute trust in his wife, helping her to focus on her artistic activities in the right way.

The two artists have a son - Bao Anh - who is a trumpet player and is now married. Knowing that his son is passionate about art, Thai Bao guides him but does not impose. Thai Bao affirms that her husband always has a certain authority and is the "soul" of the whole family.

Currently, Thai Bao and her husband live in a four-story house in Dong Da District (Hanoi). The singer said she has no need to buy another house or buy a few plots of land and leave them empty. If she has money, Thai Bao likes to do charity work, buy whatever she wants or make MVs for songs that have become famous for her. Although life is not perfect, the singer is content with everything she has, without ambition or jealousy towards anyone.

Every day, the singer maintains the habit of doing yoga in the morning, then going swimming, and playing table tennis in the afternoon. In the evening, if she doesn't have to record or perform, she spends time taking care of her family. When she was young, because of her passion for her career, she sang everywhere, from the mainland, islands to the border. At the age of 60, the artist said she wants to spend more time enjoying life.

Thai Bao, 60 years old, was born into an intellectual family in Vinh, the youngest of six siblings. The artist became famous for creating new colors for the series of songs Thoi hoa do (Red Flower Time), Visiting Ben Nha Rong (Dragon Wharf), and Vaoc chan tron tren cat (Round Footprints on the Sand). She has worked at the Vietnam Music and Dance Theater since 1983. She was awarded the title of People's Artist by the State in 2015.
