The son of People's Artist Thai Bao was admitted to the Music School in London (England), but he stayed in Vietnam to study with teachers such as: Tran Manh Tuan, Quyen Thien Duc, Hong Kien...
People's Artist Thai Bao and Meritorious Artist Anh Tuan got married in 1989. The two artists have only one son, Nguyen Bao Anh, who is a trumpet player at the Vietnam National Music, Dance and Dance Theater.
Recently, Bao Anh (stage name Bao Anh Taruki) has just released her first album Thanh am thoi gian with Vietnamese - Japanese cultural colors. The album includes 7 medleys: Melodies of life, Giac mo nao, Laputa, Con mua thang May, A town with an ocean view, Du chang phai anh and Trong mat nhung giac mo.
In addition, Bao Anh also released MVs Giac mo noon, A town with an ocean view and Sora mo toberu hazu (I can fly up to the sky, Spitz).
People's Artist Thai Bao hugged his son and cried on stage.
According to Bao Anh Taruki, the 7 songs above were chosen by him because they are all associated with major events in his life. The musical colors in Thanh am thoi gian are not only gentle, romantic, pure, and cheerful, but also bring a sense of "healing".
The album was arranged by three musicians Luu Ha An, Thanh Vuong and Nguyen Viet Hung. People's Artist Thai Bao was surprised: "I don't know how he was able to convince a talented and difficult musician like Luu Ha An to agree to arrange the music for this album."
Musician Luu Ha An revealed that he spent a lot of time and brainpower on arranging the two songs in the album. "Receiving the invitation from Bao Anh, with a large age gap, I was hesitant because of the two perspectives, two journeys, two different musical languages. These are all famous works and they were arranged for an instrumentalist, not a singer, so I felt quite pressured, had to refer to many recordings, trying to highlight Bao Anh's trumpet sound above all else," musician Luu Ha An shared.
Artist Bao Anh is the only son of People's Artist Thai Bao and Meritorious Artist Anh Tuan.
Sharing at the press conference, People's Artist Thai Bao could not hide his emotions and cried when he saw his son grow up and take his first steps on the artistic path. People's Artist Thai Bao said that since the age of 3, his son has shown musical talent, likes songs on TV, and even had to turn on commercial music for Bao Anh to eat.
Knowing his son's passion for art, Thai Bao guided him but did not impose. At the age of 10, Bao Anh was admitted to the National Academy of Music with a major in Clarinet. One day, Bao Anh borrowed Kenny G's CD to listen to. The music of that talented artist touched his heart and inspired him to love the Saxophone. Bao Anh was fascinated by Kenny G's trumpet and considered this music legend a role model to learn from.
People's Artist Thai Bao said that Bao Anh was admitted to LCCM - London but her son decided to stay in Vietnam to study with teachers Tran Manh Tuan, Quyen Thien Dac, Hong Kien, Tung Sax... and decided to stick with, nurture and pursue his passion for Saxophone.
People's Artist Thai Bao also said that although he is an only child, his parents rarely worry about him. Bao Anh resembles his father in being gentle, sincere and calm. Like his mother, he loves his job, is passionate about it and is constantly enthusiastic.
Although she is a "child of an art family", Bao Anh Taruki revealed that she feels a lot of pressure because almost everything she does, especially things related to art, is scrutinized.
"Everyone said: "That's the son of People's Artist Thai Bao, let's see how he is, how he plays the trumpet". When I went to the competition, people paid more attention to me than the other contestants. That made me feel a lot of pressure. However, I never felt self-conscious but turned it into confidence. I always tried to be more complete and more meticulous. Because I am the child of two great artists, I may not be too excellent but I always try my best to study or perform. That effort is partly so that my parents will not be ashamed of me ", Bao Anh said.
Because this was the first time he made an album himself, he had no experience but had to worry about everything, from finances to choosing musical works, contacting musicians, contacting bands... "My parents let me decide on my first album. When it was finished, I asked them to 'appraise' it, and luckily they said yes ," Bao Anh said.
Bao Anh Taruki performs "Sora mo toberu hazu".
Artist Bao Anh Taruki's real name is Nguyen Bao Anh. Since grade 6, his parents sent him to study clarinet at the Vietnam National Academy of Music, taught by lecturer Quoc Bao.
Later, he was one of the excellent students of famous Saxophonists such as: Quyen Thien Dac, Tran Manh Tuan, Tung Sax...
After graduating, Bao Anh joined the Vietnam National Music, Dance and Dance Theater - where both her parents had worked and contributed for many years.
Recently, Bao Anh won the Outstanding Saxophone Performer award at the 2024 National Band Festival organized by the Vietnam Musicians Association, the Hanoi Music Association and the People's Committee of Son Tay Town.
