(Dan Tri) - Album "Sound of Time" by People's Artist Thai Bao's son - Bao Anh Taruki - with 7 medleys of Vietnamese and Japanese songs arranged by musicians Luu Ha An, Thanh Vuong, and Nguyen Viet Hung.

Bao Anh completed her first project in 6 months. The 7 medleys include: Melodies of life (Nobuo Uematsu), Midday dream (Giang Son), Laputa (Joe Hisaishi), May rain (Tran Lap - Tran Tuan Hung), A town with an ocean view (Joe Hisaishi's town overlooking the ocean), Even though it's not you (Dinh Manh Ninh) and Fresh dreams (Lan Pham).

In addition, the artist also released the MVs "Morning Dream", "A town with an ocean view" and "Sora mo toberu hazu" (I can fly up to the sky, Spitz).

At the launch event of his debut album on November 10, Bao Anh Taruki shared that he chose the 7 songs above because they are all associated with major events in his life.

From the first song to the seventh song, all are intentionally arranged in a linear chronological order like a narrative, a nostalgic line about what has happened and passed in one's life.

That's why Bao Anh Taruki decided to name his first music product Thanh am thoi gian .

Talking about the reason for performing some Japanese songs, Bao Anh said that he has loved Japanese culture since childhood, through comics and music. The two songs Laputa and A town with an ocean view are from the two movies Castle in the sky and Kiki's delivery service.

The musical colors in The Sound of Time are not only gentle, romantic, pure, and cheerful like Bao Anh Taruki himself, but also bring very strange "healing" feelings.

The Sound of Time features the musical arrangements of three famous artists from three different generations: musician Luu Ha An, musician Thanh Vuong and musician Nguyen Viet Hung.

According to musician Luu Ha An, he spent a lot of time and brainpower on arranging the two songs in the album.

"Receiving an invitation from a young person, with a large age gap, I was confused because of the two different perspectives, two different paths, two different musical languages.

These are all famous works and they were arranged for an instrumentalist, not a singer, so I felt quite pressured, having to refer to many recordings, trying to highlight Bao Anh's trumpet sound above all else," musician Luu Ha An shared.

People's Artist Thai Bao revealed that since the age of 3, his son has shown musical talent, likes songs on TV, and even has to play commercial music for Bao Anh to eat. Bao Anh invested very carefully in this debut album.

Young artist Bao Anh Taruki is the son of People's Artist Thai Bao and Meritorious Artist Anh Tuan. Since grade 6, Bao Anh's parents sent him to study clarinet at the Vietnam National Academy of Music, taught by lecturer Quoc Bao. The love for classical music was "lit" in the young Bao Anh very early.

However, the trumpet of Kenny G - the Saxophone legend - changed Bao Anh Taruki's musical direction and future path.

That was one time Bao Anh saw his mother cleaning the house with a pile of music records, in that pile of music records he accidentally saw Kenny G's music record.

Before that, Bao Anh Taruki had listened to the music of this Saxophone legend, but his music at that time had not really "awakened" his musical senses.

"When I took the CD upstairs to listen to it, immersed in Kenny G's music, I realized that this was my path. I would definitely have to follow the path of saxophone.

I felt like I was enlightened and had my path opened when Kenny G's music touched my soul. I was determined to learn saxophone from that day on," Bao Anh Taruki confided.

Mr. Taruki graduated from the Clarinet and Saxophone department at the Vietnam National Academy of Music.

He is one of the excellent students of famous artists such as: Quyen Thien Dac, Tran Manh Tuan, Tung Sax... After graduating, Bao Anh joined the Vietnam Music and Dance Theater - where both his father and mother had many years of work and dedication.

Recently, Bao Anh won the "Outstanding Saxophone Performer" award at the 2024 National Band Festival organized by the Vietnam Musicians Association, the Hanoi Music Association and the People's Committee of Son Tay Town.
