(Dan Tri) - Pedagogy students who have enjoyed the policy but do not work in the education sector within 2 years of graduation must repay tuition and living expenses.
Decree 116 of the Government on tuition and living expenses support policy for pedagogical students for the 2021 enrollment period. Accordingly, pedagogical students will be supported with two expenses: tuition and living expenses.
In which, tuition fees are equal to the tuition fees of the teacher training institution where the student studies; the support level is 3.63 million VND/month to cover living expenses during the study period at the school (10 months per school year).
This Decree officially takes effect from November 15, 2020 and begins to apply to students enrolled in 2021.
Pedagogy students who do not pay fees on time may be sued (Illustration: Nam Anh).
According to Article 6 of Decree No. 116, the subjects will have to repay tuition fees and support funds as follows:
Firstly, pedagogical students have enjoyed a policy of not working in the education sector after 2 years from the date of graduation recognition decision.
Second , pedagogical students have enjoyed policies and worked in the education sector but do not have enough working time as prescribed in Point a, Clause 2 of this Article.
Third, pedagogical students who are entitled to the policy are in the training period but transfer to another training major, drop out of school, do not complete the training program or are disciplined and forced to drop out of school.
In addition, the decree also stipulates a number of cases where pedagogical students are not supported with tuition and living expenses, or are eligible but with requirements including:
Pedagogical students who are temporarily absent from school or temporarily suspended from school will not be entitled to support policies during the period of absence or suspension.
Pedagogical students who stop studying due to illness, accident, retake, fail a grade (no more than once) or stop studying for other reasons other than disciplinary or voluntary withdrawal, and are considered by the teacher training institution to continue studying according to regulations, will continue to enjoy the support policies prescribed in this Decree, but the duration of enjoyment shall not exceed the maximum time to complete the training program.
Within 30 days from the date of receipt of the notice from the competent authority, students who are eligible for reimbursement must contact the agency that issued the notice of recovery of the reimbursement to complete the procedures for reimbursement of the support funds.
The maximum period for performing the obligation to reimburse the support fund is 4 years, from the date the student teacher receives the notice of reimbursement.
Students who do not repay tuition and living expenses as required will be subject to bank interest.
In particular, if the student teacher does not fulfill the obligation to reimburse, the competent authority issuing the notice to recover the funds has the right to file a lawsuit in court according to the provisions of law.
