On September 30, Western media quoted sources from the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) as saying that three PFLP leaders were killed in an Israeli attack on Beirut, Lebanon.

Earlier, according to Sputnik, Israeli aircraft first attacked a building in Beirut in the Cola area. At the same time, Al Jazeera TV channel quoted a statement from the PFLP, adding that among the three PFLP members killed, two were senior representatives of the organization. The third victim, according to the TV channel, was a PFLP activist.

The PFLP was founded in 1967 and is one of the earliest Palestinian movements. It is considered the second most important force (after Fatah) within the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO). Since its founding, it has been actively involved in the armed struggle against the State of Israel. The PFLP's paramilitary wings have also participated in fighting against the Israeli army after October 7, 2023. The organization operates in Syria, Lebanon, Israel, as well as in the Palestinian territories of the West Bank and the Gaza Strip.

The increasing frequency of Israeli attacks against Hezbollah militias in Lebanon and Houthi militias in Yemen has raised concerns that the war in the Middle East could spin out of control and draw in Iran and the United States.

More than 1,000 Lebanese have been killed and 6,000 injured in the past two weeks, Lebanon's health ministry said. Two weeks of intense Israeli bombing have killed a number of senior Hezbollah officials, including leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah.
