Speaking at the opening session of the Boao Forum for Asia (BFA) 2025 Annual Conference in the coastal town of Boao in China's Hainan Province on March 27, Chinese Vice Premier Ding Xuexiang called for solidarity among countries and put forward four important proposals to promote cooperation and development amid a significant increase in global instability and uncertainty.
Chinese Vice Premier Ding Xuexiang said that countries need to work together, move forward together, tackle global challenges together, build an Asian home together, and create a better future for Asia and the world.
In his speech “Coping with Global Challenges Together and Building an Asian Home Together,” Mr. Dinh Tiet Tuong made four proposals.
First, strengthen solidarity and cooperation, increase trust, respect each other's core interests and major concerns, and promote global governance in a more fair and reasonable direction.
Second, promote economic globalization through openness and integration, adhere to open regionalism and promote regional economic integration and linkages.
Third, promote prosperity and development in a mutually beneficial and win-win direction, implement global development initiatives, strengthen scientific and technological innovation cooperation, and better support the development of all countries.
Fourth, protect security and stability in peaceful coexistence, resolve differences and disputes through dialogue and consultation.
According to Chinese Vice Premier Ding Xuexiang, the Boao Forum for Asia is an important international forum for openness, inclusiveness, exchange and mutual learning.
The Deputy Prime Minister expressed his hope that all guests would share their understanding, build broad consensus and contribute more wisdom and strength to jointly create a future for Asia in the context of great changes in the world.
This year's conference takes place from March 25-28 with the theme "Asia in a Changing World: Towards a Shared Future."
According to the Organizing Committee, more than 1,500 guests including leaders, officials from many countries, representatives of international organizations, business representatives... from more than 60 countries and territories attended the event. Many activities such as thematic forums and dialogues took place on the same day.
The theme of this year's annual conference is diverse and future-oriented, especially adding "proactive, proactive" topics such as application and management of Artificial Intelligence (AI), digital connection...
The main topics of interest on the opening day include energy transition, cross-border e-commerce, population aging.../.
