On the afternoon of December 5, the Department of Education and Training of Thoai Son District, An Giang Province, said that the district's functional agencies are coordinating to clarify the cause of poisoning of 15 students of Nui Sap Secondary School due to eating candy of unknown origin on December 2.
According to Thanh Nien reporter 's source, at 9:30 a.m. on December 2, Nui Sap Town Police received a report from the Principal of Nui Sap Town Secondary School in Tay Son hamlet, Nui Sap Town, that 15 students had symptoms of dizziness, stomachache, and vomiting due to eating candy of unknown origin.

Through initial verification, at around 8:30 a.m. on December 2, 15 students of classes 7A1 and 7A4 of Nui Sap Secondary School, after eating candy sold by VTNN (a student in the same class 7A4), showed symptoms of headache, dizziness, and vomiting, so they were taken to Thoai Son District Medical Center for initial first aid.
Through investigation, it was determined that N. sold each candy to her classmates for 500 VND so they could eat it together. The source of the candy that N. sold to the students of class 7A4 was her 15-year-old sister who bought it from an unknown woman.
According to the report of Nui Sap Secondary School, after being admitted to the hospital, all the students were tested by medical staff and given IV fluids to stabilize their health. Through discussions with the district health agency, it was learned that the students had stomachaches, headaches and vomiting due to eating strange candy and herd syndrome. By the morning of December 4, after a general health check, the students were stable, so the doctor discharged all 15 students with an initial diagnosis of functional dyspepsia. Currently, all 15 poisoned students are in good health and have returned to school as usual.
