In the 2024-2025 school year, Ho Chi Minh City will ensure that 100% of children living in the area have enough places to study, and the number of students will increase significantly at the high school level (due to the difference between 12th graders graduating and 9th graders graduating and entering 10th grade).
To prepare for the new school year, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training requires schools to coordinate with publishers to provide adequate textbooks for students, equip libraries with enough textbooks, and have plans to support disadvantaged students, ensuring that no student lacks textbooks.
In the 2024-2025 school year, Ho Chi Minh City has 1,707,220 students from preschool to high school, an increase of more than 24,000 students compared to the previous school year, of which the highest number is at the secondary school level with more than 80,612 teachers.
In the 2024-2025 school year, it is expected that 23 projects with 476 new classrooms will be put into use (of which: the number of additional classrooms is 412) with a total investment of: 2,237,603 million VND.
From the first day of school until the opening day, schools develop plans to organize activities at the beginning of the school year, grasp the situation of students at the beginning of the year, and provide parents with necessary information.
