The plan to display fireworks on New Year's Eve has just been approved by the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, following a proposal from the City Command and the Department of Culture and Sports.
The fireworks display will last 15 minutes, from 0 - 0:15 on January 29 (the first day of Tet), funded by socialized sources.
Two high-altitude fireworks displays will be held at the Saigon River Tunnel (Thu Duc City) and Ben Duoc Martyrs Memorial (Cu Chi District).
13 low-altitude shooting locations include: Thao Dien urban area, Thu Duc City; Rach Dia bridge area, Nha Be; Saigon river area, near Rach Chiec bridge, Thu Duc (shooting on barges); Dam Sen cultural park, district 11; Ben Noc memorial temple, Thu Duc.
Memorial area of the 1968 Tet Offensive and Uprising, Binh Chanh; Tay Bac Industrial Park, Cu Chi; Rung Sac Martyrs Memorial Temple, Can Gio; District 7 Administrative Center Square; 38-hectare residential park, Tan Thoi Nhat Ward, District 12; Hoa Binh Square, Go Vap; Nga Ba Giong Martyrs Memorial Area, Hoc Mon; Binh Dien Market Area, District 8.
In addition to fireworks, on the occasion of Lunar New Year, Ho Chi Minh City also organizes a 3D light show on the City People's Committee building on the evening of the 29th of Tet, along with spring welcoming activities at the center such as: Exhibition "Celebrating Spring At Ty - Celebrating the glorious Party" from the 26th of Tet to the 12th of January at Lam Son Park and Pasteur - Ly Tu Trong Street; cultural and artistic programs at the Ho Chi Minh monument campus on Nguyen Hue Street; Nguyen Hue Flower Street; Tet At Ty Book Festival on Le Loi Street.
