Exporting the first batch of green-skinned mangoes to the US market

The export of Tien Giang's green-skinned mangoes to the US market will open up many new opportunities, helping the province access the global market, affirming the position of Tien Giang agricultural products.

On March 19, the People's Committee of Tien Giang province coordinated with Vina T&T Import-Export Trading Service Company Limited and Thanh Binh Import-Export Trading Company Limited to organize a ceremony to announce the export of the first batch of green-skinned elephant mangoes in Tien Giang province to the US market.

Speaking at the announcement ceremony, Mr. Pham Van Trong - Vice Chairman of Tien Giang Provincial People's Committee - said that exporting a batch of green-skinned elephant mangoes from Tien Giang to the US market will open up many new opportunities, helping us access the global market, affirming the position of Tien Giang agricultural products.

Tien Giang currently has over 88,000 hectares of fruit trees, with an output of over 1.8 million tons, accounting for nearly 40% of agricultural land; of which, the mango growing area is over 2,000 hectares, with an output of over 50,000 tons, not only serving the domestic market but also exporting to China, Korea, Japan, the US, New Zealand and the European market.

According to Mr. Nguyen Dinh Muoi - Deputy General Director of Vina T&T Import-Export Trading Service Company Limited, the export of the first batch of green-skinned elephant mangoes from Tien Giang province to the US market is a launching pad for other agricultural products to be exported to demanding markets, especially the US market.

To have this official export shipment, the company sent technical staff to support farmers for a long time, instructing growers on how to package fruit; build codes for growing areas and packaging facilities; link up with cooperatives and cooperatives in growing areas... Up to now, all growing areas in Tien Giang in particular and the Mekong Delta in general have met quality standards for export to demanding markets, including the US.

After the announcement ceremony, the businesses officially exported the first 1 ton of green-skinned elephant mango to the US and 6 tons to the Australian market.
