Eliminate temporary housing, build the future

Binh Duong is accelerating the implementation of a program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses, helping poor households and policy families have stable housing. With the goal of completion before June 30, 2025, the program not only provides shelter, but also motivates people to stabilize their lives and escape poverty.

Methodical model, effective way

According to the plan, Binh Duong will support the construction and repair of 608 houses, of which 31 are for people with revolutionary contributions, 577 are for poor households and families in difficult circumstances. Each newly built house will be supported with a maximum of 100 million VND, in case of weak ground, it can be supported with an additional 20 million VND; houses being repaired will be supported with 50 million VND/house.

The province has assigned specific tasks to districts and cities to ensure implementation progress. In addition to the budget, Binh Duong also called for the cooperation of businesses, organizations and kind-hearted individuals to support additional funding, ensuring that households enjoy the best living conditions.

On March 25, the whole province simultaneously started building houses for households eligible for support. In Phu Giao district, Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Van Loi attended the groundbreaking ceremony to demolish a temporary house for the family of Ms. Nguyen Thi Gai, Bau Cam hamlet, An Long commune, who is facing housing difficulties. Here, the Provincial Party Secretary emphasized: "The program to demolish temporary, dilapidated houses not only helps households have a place to live but also motivates them to improve their lives. This is the common responsibility of the Party, the State and the whole society in caring for people's lives".

Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Van Loi also emphasized that eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses does not stop at building new houses, but is also the province's commitment to social security, aiming for sustainable development. When people have stable housing, they will have more motivation to do business and rise out of poverty. "Each newly built house is a family that is given more motivation to rise up. We are not only building houses, but also building a better future for the people of Binh Duong," said Mr. Nguyen Van Loi.

Mr. Nguyen Loc Ha, Standing Deputy Secretary of Binh Duong Provincial Party Committee said: "After reviewing, the whole province still has 470 houses that need to be built and repaired. Binh Duong aims to complete at least 50% of these houses before April 30 and all of them before June 30. This is an important task, demonstrating the province's determination to improve living conditions for people in difficult circumstances."

Provincial leaders requested localities to quickly disburse support funds, while promoting social mobilization to supplement resources, helping the program achieve the highest efficiency. Binh Duong was also assigned by the Central Government to support Nghe An and Bac Lieu provinces to implement this program with a total amount of 90 billion VND.

Not only stopping at policy decisions, the program also received great consensus from the people, organizations and businesses. In many localities, the government and organizations have closely monitored the construction process to ensure the quality of the project. Some businesses in the province have also committed to sponsoring construction materials, helping to reduce costs for poor households.

Mr. Tran Van Chau, in Binh Minh 2 quarter, Di An ward (Di An city), emotionally shared: "My family has lived in a dilapidated house for many years. Now, thanks to the local government, we can start building a new house. This is truly a great joy."

Secretary of Di An City Party Committee Truong Thi Bich Hanh said that Binh Duong always pays attention to supporting housing for the poor. With the determination to eliminate temporary houses, the city is resolutely implementing to complete 16 houses before April 20. Along with building houses, Binh Duong also implements many policies to support livelihoods for households such as vocational training, job referrals, and support for production loans. This is a direction to help ensure the sustainability of the program, not only helping people have houses, but also creating conditions to escape poverty in the long term.

With the determination of the provincial leaders and the cooperation of the entire political system, the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in Binh Duong is on track, aiming for early completion so that people can have a better life. At the same time, the program also contributes to demonstrating social responsibility, building a comprehensively developed Binh Duong, leaving no one behind.
