Muong Khuong has a great competitive advantage over other localities in the province, which is the formation of concentrated, large-scale agricultural production areas that provide enough raw materials for processing factories. A plus point for Muong Khuong is that local agricultural products (tea, pineapple, chili) have outstanding quality, different from similar products of other localities.

Based on that advantage, along with the goals identified in Resolution 10, Muong Khuong has focused on creating a breakthrough in leadership thinking, shifting from agricultural production to agricultural economic development; clearly identifying 6 key industries (tea, medicinal herbs, bananas, pineapples, cinnamon, pig farming) and 2 areas of developing hill and forest economy, potential industries for investment and development; the solutions proposed in the resolution have been flexibly and creatively applied by the locality, in accordance with reality; prioritizing the allocation of budget capital to implement policies to encourage the development of agricultural production in the province (policies on tea planting, livestock farming, construction of processing facilities, etc.) and integrating capital sources from 3 national target programs; continuing to develop the domestic market, firmly maintaining traditional markets (China, the Middle East, etc.) and expanding new, potential markets such as the EU, Japan, etc.

The newly planted forest area reaches 302 hectares. The protected forest area by 2024 will reach 20,376 hectares. The forest cover rate reaches 44.67%. The value of timber exploitation and non-timber forest products (including the value of forest exploitation, secondary forest products and forest environmental services) reaches nearly 240 billion VND.
