Sand truck causes bridge collapse in Binh Phuoc

TPO - A dump truck carrying sand overturned while moving when the bridge collapsed. The incident injured the driver.

On the afternoon of March 20, a dump truck carrying sand was moving on the road, while on Ba Ven bridge (Ba Ven hamlet, Loc Khanh commune, Loc Ninh district, Binh Phuoc province) when the bridge suddenly collapsed.

When the dump truck overturned down the stream bank, the male driver quickly broke the door and escaped with only minor injuries.

The leader of Loc Ninh District People's Committee said that the incident happened in the early afternoon, the authorities came to set up barriers to ensure safety, and contacted excavators to temporarily level the road to ensure traffic.

Ba Ven Bridge is an iron bridge spanning a stream in Ba Ven Hamlet (Loc Khanh Commune, Loc Ninh District) serving the travel needs of households in the area. Currently, Loc Khanh Commune Police are protecting the scene to clarify the cause.

According to the leader of Loc Ninh District People's Committee, Ba Ven Bridge was built a long time ago and is now degraded. The commune government has put up warning signs about the weak bridge to alert passing vehicles. The District People's Committee is organizing a bidding process to select a contractor to invest in and rebuild Ba Ven Bridge, ensuring people's safe and convenient travel.

Authorities are investigating and handling the accident.
