The 2024 Tien Phong Golf Championship - For Young Vietnamese Talents is a sports event organized by Tien Phong newspaper to celebrate the 71st anniversary of Tien Phong newspaper's founding (November 16, 1953 - November 16, 2024), and at the same time aims at the important goal of promoting and raising funds for the activities of the Vietnam Young Talent Support Fund.
Tien Phong Golf Championship - For Vietnamese Young Talents is an annual activity organized by Tien Phong newspaper to promote and contribute to attracting stable finance for the activities of the Vietnam Young Talent Support Fund. The above funding source helps the Vietnam Young Talent Support Fund have enough resources to award tens of billions of VND in scholarships, incentive bonuses, and support money to groups and individuals with outstanding achievements in the fields of: Study, scientific research, start-up, production labor, security - defense, culture, sports, and volunteer social activities in recent years.
Not just a sporting event, Tien Phong Golf Championship - For young Vietnamese talents also becomes a bridge for sharing, solidarity and spreading noble human values. In addition to the top competitions, the Organizing Committee has launched many meaningful charity programs in each season, to help many young talents in difficult circumstances overcome difficulties to rise up and shine, thereby promoting the sense of responsibility of the golfer community and golf lovers to society.
This year, the highlight of the sideline activities of Tien Phong Golf Championship is the program "With Tien Phong, we help you go to school", aiming to join hands and support the victims who were severely affected by the recent storm No. 3 (super typhoon YAGI). At the press conference, the Organizing Committee awarded 5 scholarships, each worth 10 million VND, to students in difficult circumstances after natural disasters and floods. These scholarships not only provide material support, but also a great source of encouragement and motivation for the students to quickly overcome the pain, stabilize their studies and quickly return to their daily lives.
After 7 seasons of organization, Tien Phong Golf Championship has received positive feedback from experts, golfers and fans nationwide about the organization, professional quality and humane values for the community. The tournament has welcomed and engraved the names of 6 different champions on the rotating trophy, including many young golfers who have become famous in the Vietnamese and international golf community such as SEA Games 32 bronze medalist Nguyen Anh Minh, 2023 National Champion Nguyen Nhat Long, 2024 National Champion Nguyen Duc Son...
In the 8th season in 2024, Tien Phong Golf Championship - For Vietnamese Young Talents will gather about 160 golfers to compete in one day (November 2) on the Kings Course at BRG Kings Island Golf Resort (Dong Mo, Son Tay, Hanoi). This is the 8th consecutive season that BRG Group has accompanied the Vietnam Young Talent Support Fund to organize this meaningful tournament.
In this year's season, the Organizing Committee also announced a very attractive HIO prize with a total prize value of more than 7.3 billion VND, with the prize being 3 VOLVO cars including 1 VOLVO S90L Plug-in Hybrid Ultra worth 2,750,000,000 VND, 2 VOLVO XC60 Ultra cars worth 2,279,000,000 VND each. The HIO prize will be placed at the par 3 holes 6, 14 and 17.
Golfers will compete in 5 groups including groups A, B, C, D (women) and Young Talent group, competing for titles in the groups and championship (golfers in the Young Talent group only compete for the championship). The groups will be divided according to Handicap Day after the end of the competition.
To further enhance the professional quality of the tournament, aiming for high professionalism, as well as enhancing the significance of the tournament in supporting the development of young Vietnamese talents, the Organizing Committee of Tien Phong Golf Championship - For Vietnamese Young Talents has organized a separate "Young Talent" tournament for the top male and female golfers in Vietnam under 18 years old to compete. Young golfers who have won the Tien Phong Golf Championship, won the National Golf Championship and topped age groups at VGA Junior Tour stages will have their tournament entry fees covered by the Organizing Committee. Golfers under 18 years old who are not in the above categories will also be supported by the Organizing Committee with 60% of their entry fees.
Participating in the tournament with a separate group for young talents is an opportunity for young golfers to have more conditions to compete, improve their competition experience to accumulate experience, be ready and confident to compete in high-level tournaments, such as the National Golf Championship as well as other international golf tournament systems. In his first appearance, Doan Uy - the 2024 National Youth Amateur Champion - won first place in the "Young Talent" group with 68 strokes (-4) last year.
