The signing ceremony marks an important milestone, and affirms the strategic step of Silk Path Dong Trieu through the partnership with PGA of America. Through this partnership, PGA will coordinate to improve the quality of golf training for professional athletes in Vietnam. At the same time, help young golfers participate in the training and management of the professional golf industry in Vietnam as well as abroad. The partnership with PGA of America is an important step for Vietnamese golf, not only helping to improve the quality of training, but also opening up opportunities for young golfers to participate in international tournaments and get closer to top events such as the PGA Tour.
In particular, the signing ceremony was also attended by golf legend Sir Nick Faldo - famous golf course designer, the most successful golfer in European golf history and former world champion. Legend Nick Faldo emphasized: "I have maintained a Faldo Series youth tournament system - youth golf tournaments (from 16 to 21 years old) for non-professional athletes for 30 years, in Southeast Asia for 20 years. Therefore, I hope Vietnam will organize similar tournaments to promote the golf movement in Vietnam. Achievements at the tournament will help young golfers have the conditions to participate in bigger tournaments in Southeast Asia and Asia".
The cooperation event will greatly benefit Vietnamese athletes.
Representative of Vietnam Golf Training Center - Nguyen Nghiem Hoang Nam said that golf in Vietnam is a sport that is developing very quickly. Cooperating with PGA of America will help the Center improve the quality of golf training with international standard curriculum. Along with that, athletes have the opportunity to participate in international tournaments such as PGA Junior Series, Junior PGA Championships...
Mr. Nguyen The Dai - Director of External Relations of Silk Path Dong Trieu Golf expressed that the Center is coordinating with PGA of America to plan to organize the first PGA Junior Series tournament for young athletes from 7 to 16 years old, to select the athletes with the highest achievements to participate in tournaments in the PGA Junior system in Southeast Asia and Asia in the near future.
