What is the inspection cycle for traffic rescue vehicles?

The longest inspection cycle for traffic rescue vehicles is 24 months - the first inspection cycle (illustrative photo).

Regarding this issue, a representative of a vehicle inspection facility in Hanoi said that according to the Law on Road Traffic Order and Safety and Circular 53/2024 regulating the classification of road vehicles, traffic rescue vehicles are classified as specialized vehicles.

According to the regulations in Circular 47/2024, traffic rescue vehicles will have a first inspection cycle of 24 months (exempt from inspection in case the vehicle has not been used, with the year of manufacture to the year of first inspection certificate being issued less than 3 years (year of manufacture plus 2 years)).

After this cycle, for vehicles with a production time of up to 7 years, the inspection cycle is 12 months/time.

For vehicles with a production time of over 7 years, the inspection cycle is every 6 months.

In case of a traffic rescue vehicle that has been modified (changed in function or changed in one of the following systems: steering, braking (except for the case of installing an additional brake pedal), the first inspection cycle is 12 months (no exemption from inspection), then there is a periodic inspection cycle every 6 months.

The Law on Road Traffic Order and Safety 2024 stipulates: A road traffic rescue vehicle is a specialized vehicle with identification signs and equipped with tools and equipment used to rescue, support the movement or transport of damaged or broken road vehicles.

Road traffic rescue vehicles must have identification signs, information posted on the vehicle, and be equipped with a journey monitoring device and a device to record the driver's image.
