On December 17, Mr. Nguyen Tri Thuc - Deputy Minister of Health and Director of Cho Ray Hospital, Ho Chi Minh City - attended the conference to summarize Resolution 134 of the People's Council of Vinh Long province on the health sector and announced and transferred 6 specialized techniques to Vinh Long General Hospital.
Regarding the results of implementing Resolution 134, Dr. Nguyen Thanh Truyen - Director of Vinh Long General Hospital said that up to now, 2 rooms and 7 departments have been established, reaching a rate of 100%.
In 2025, the hospital will continue to establish 3 departments including nephrology - urology, endocrinology, thoracic surgery and develop a stroke unit towards a neurology department with a scale of 50 beds. The goal in the second quarter of 2025 is to eliminate concurrent department heads.
Regarding the 6 specialized techniques, Dr. Truyen added that these are new techniques performed for the first time at the unit, transferred from Can Tho Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital, Central Endocrinology Hospital, Cho Ray Hospital, and Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital.
Deputy Minister Nguyen Tri Thuc highly appreciated the results of implementing the resolution on the health sector of Vinh Long People's Council and the process of transferring 6 specialized techniques to Vinh Long Provincial General Hospital.
"I have been to many provinces and cities across the country, but have only recorded that the People's Councils in two localities (Vinh Long is one of those two provinces - PV) have their own resolutions on training doctors and nurses for provincial general hospitals. In my opinion, this is a very lucky thing, which not every province has.
In addition to developing specialized medical fields, Vinh Long's health sector also needs to focus on developing primary health care and preventive medicine. In addition, it is also necessary to focus on developing digital health, especially green health.
Green healthcare is a concept that sounds new but is not. Because the government has signed up to bring Net Zero to 0 by 2030.
Therefore, green healthcare is a very important task, we must lay the foundation and build plans right now," Mr. Thuc emphasized.
