Building a civilized urban area in Tan Son

Building new rural areas and civilized urban areas is a major policy that Phu Tho province is interested in implementing. In Tan Son district, thanks to flexibility in implementation and effective promotion of the role of mass mobilization work, the movement has been spreading widely, contributing to changing the face of localities and improving people's lives.

Tan Son district center is investing in upgrading infrastructure, striving to reach type IV urban status by 2030.

The main road leading to Zone I, Tan Phu Commune, Tan Son District, where 28 households live, was previously just a narrow trail, cars could not enter, transporting and trading goods encountered many difficulties, especially when people reached the forestry exploitation cycle, causing the economic value to be low, always lower than the general market in the district. In 2023, with the motto "The State and the People work together", the road was quickly deployed and completed, helping people open the door to economic development, hunger eradication and poverty reduction.

Mr. Ha Van Mong, Zone I, Tan Phu Commune recalls: “This road used to be just a trail, about 1m wide, we farmers had a hard time harvesting crops. Since the end of 2023, the road has been invested by the State to be completed and put into use, we are very excited because the value of the products produced is higher than before”.

Joining us on the new road, Mr. Nguyen Duc Nghia, Secretary of the Party Cell I, Tan Phu Commune, excitedly said: “When the State had a policy to build the road, we held a meeting with the residential area, all households with land on both sides of the road agreed to donate land to widen the road. We quickly cleared the land to create the most favorable conditions for the construction unit to complete the road.”

Along with expanding roads, in the construction of civilized urban areas in mountainous areas, the construction of cultural houses in the area is also given special attention. Mr. Phung Van Cuong, Secretary of Party Cell 8, Tan Phu Commune said: "Since the cultural house in the residential area was newly built with a spacious playground and exercise area for both adults and children, the people in the area have been very excited. Thanks to that, the spirit of solidarity and unity of the people in the area has become closer and stronger."

After 17 years of establishing Tan Son district, Tan Phu commune, the central commune of the district, has now met all the criteria to establish a town. The establishment of the town will create momentum to accelerate the process of economic and social development in the locality. Mr. Thai Viet Anh, Vice Chairman of Tan Phu Commune People's Committee said: "Tan Phu commune has been recognized as a type V urban area. In the process of building from a commune to a town, we have had many advantages in terms of infrastructure, basic cultural institutions are guaranteed, although there are still some cultural houses mobilizing resources to complete the standards. In the coming time, the Party Committee and local authorities will focus on mobilizing resources to ensure the construction of a civilized urban area".

According to Mr. Nguyen Quoc Viet, Head of the Economic Infrastructure Department of Tan Son district: "In the period of 2026-2030, Tan Son district People's Committee has planned to build an urban development program focusing on infrastructure such as transportation, administrative headquarters, education, culture, urban trade services... invested in spacious and modern so that Tan Phu commune is recognized as a type IV urban area and becomes a town in the future".

On the “journey” of building a civilized urban area and turning Tan Phu into a town, the people here are always proud of the participation and contribution of each person. Hopefully, the civilized urban model will help the urban space and landscape in the mountainous district of Tan Son become brighter, greener, cleaner, more beautiful, the social culture will develop more and more, and the quality of life of the people will be improved day by day.
