Pepper prices today, April 15, 2025, in key areas of Vietnam recorded a strong upward trend, bringing positive signals to farmers and export markets. According to the survey, pepper prices in Gia Lai and Binh Phuoc both reached 155,500 VND/kg, an increase of 1,500 VND/kg compared to the previous day, becoming the highest increase in this survey. In Ba Ria - Vung Tau, pepper prices reached 156,000 VND/kg, an increase of 1,000 VND/kg, while Dak Lak and Dak Nong led with prices of 158,000 VND/kg, increases of 1,000 VND/kg and 1,500 VND/kg respectively.

On average, pepper prices nationwide were recorded at VND 156,800/kg, up VND 1,300/kg compared to yesterday. This widespread increase reflects a strong recovery in consumption demand, especially when Vietnam is boosting pepper exports amid signs of improvement in global prices. According to the latest data, Indonesian black pepper prices reached 7,064 USD/ton, down 0.24 USD/ton, equivalent to 184,088 VND/kg, while Indonesian white pepper was at 9,651 USD/ton, down 0.25 USD/ton, reaching 251,506 VND/kg, showing pressure from excess supply in this country.

Meanwhile, Brazil maintained the price of ASTA 570 black pepper at USD 6,850/ton, equivalent to VND 178,511/kg, unchanged. Malaysia continued to anchor high prices with ASTA black pepper at USD 9,600/ton (VND 250,176/kg) and ASTA white pepper leading at USD 12,100/ton (VND 315,326/kg), unchanged from the previous session. In Vietnam, the price of 500 g/l black pepper reached USD 6,600/ton (VND 171,996/kg), 550 g/l black pepper at USD 6,800/ton (VND 177,208/kg), and ASTA white pepper at USD 9,600/ton (VND 250,176/kg), all unchanged, showing stability in the context of forecasted global output decline. According to the International Pepper Association (IPC), the price of Indonesian Lampung black pepper reached 7,064 USD/ton, down 0.24 USD/ton, equivalent to 184,088 VND/kg, while Muntok white pepper was at 9,651 USD/ton, down 0.25 USD/ton, reaching 251,506 VND/kg.

The Malaysian market maintained prices with ASTA black pepper at USD 9,600/ton (VND 250,176/kg) and ASTA white pepper at the highest at USD 12,100/ton (VND 315,326/kg). Pepper prices in Brazil remained unchanged at USD 6,850/ton (VND 178,511/kg). In Vietnam, export pepper prices remained stable with 500 g/l black pepper at USD 6,600/ton (VND 171,996/kg), 550 g/l black pepper at USD 6,800/ton (VND 177,208/kg), and ASTA white pepper at USD 9,600/ton (VND 250,176/kg).

Pepper price forecast on April 16, 2025, pepper price is likely to increase slightly from 200 - 500 VND/kg in localities such as Binh Phuoc, Gia Lai or Ba Ria - Vung Tau, thanks to scarce supply in the Central Highlands, recovering export purchasing power from the US, Middle East, Europe, and farmers' hoarding psychology. If export contracts increase sharply at the end of the month, pepper price may conquer the mark of 160,000 VND/kg in the second quarter.
