Vinh Thuy commune meets advanced new rural standards

Today, March 16, Vinh Thuy commune (Vinh Linh district) held a ceremony to announce the commune meeting advanced new rural standards (NTM) in 2022 and launched the emulation movement to build a model NTM commune in 2024. Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Van Hung; Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ha Sy Dong; Deputy Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation Hoang Duc Thang attended the ceremony.

Vinh Thuy commune is one of the first 3 communes in the province to meet the new rural standards in 2014. Up to now, the movement to build new rural areas in the commune has gone into depth and had many positive changes. The appearance of residential areas has changed clearly, and people's lives have been increasingly improved and enhanced.

In 2019 - 2022, the commune received support from superiors and mobilized resources with a total amount of more than 60 billion VND, and people agreed to support the donation of more than 5,000m2 of land to build traffic routes. Currently, the commune's traffic routes are 96% clean and green, 100% of village roads and alleys are hardened, more than 30km of commune roads are concreted and paved...

The rate of agricultural land area irrigated and actively drained reached 100% for more than 1,000 hectares of rice with 2 crops per year. Up to now, the commune has 5 model villages, 5 model gardens and 2 OCOP products recognized as meeting standards. The average income per capita reached 59 million VND/person/year, the poverty rate accounted for 0.82%.

In 2022 - 2023, with a budget of 705 million VND supported by the superior budget, the People's Committee of the commune will sign a contract with a consulting unit to design a detailed plan for the commune center and a master plan for the residential area for the period 2021-2025, with a vision to 2030. Build a new residential area suitable for the local socio-economic situation and in line with the urbanization orientation according to the plan.

With the achieved results, Vinh Thuy commune was recognized by the Provincial People's Committee Chairman as a commune meeting advanced NTM standards in 2022.

Speaking at the ceremony, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ha Sy Dong requested Vinh Thuy commune to continue to promote information and propaganda work, raise awareness of the entire political system and society on building new rural areas; maximize the role of the people as the main subject. Promote the restructuring of the agricultural sector, innovate the growth model associated with the development of high-tech agriculture, clean agriculture, organic agriculture on the basis of linkage through the leading role and production organization of cooperatives; build concentrated agricultural areas that meet quality management standards and traceability.

Continue to maintain and improve the quality of advanced NTM commune criteria, focus on building outstanding NTM model fields, promote the potential and strengths of the locality. Promote the construction of model NTM villages, NTM model gardens, and OCOP products to create highlights for the locality.
