Naval Region 5 performs well in defense diplomacy

This is one of the results of the first 6 months of 2024, announced at the Military-Political Conference organized by the Party Committee and Command of Naval Region 5 on the afternoon of June 28, in Phu Quoc City, Kien Giang Province. Rear Admiral Nguyen Huu Thoan, Secretary of the Party Committee and Political Commissar of the Region, disseminated the resolution on leadership in implementing the tasks of the Region Party Committee in the last 6 months of 2024. Colonel Luc Duc Tien, Deputy Commander of the Region, chaired the conference.

In the first 6 months of 2024, the Party Committee and Command of Naval Region 5 have thoroughly grasped and effectively implemented resolutions, directives and orders from superiors, and comprehensively completed all aspects of work. Notably, the Region has well performed the tasks of combat readiness, patrolling, reconnaissance, on-duty posts, and strictly managed assigned sea areas; strictly maintained forces, means, and on-duty systems at all levels; organized training for subjects with the correct and sufficient content, programs, and time according to regulations; conducted live-fire tests to achieve the set goals and requirements, ensuring absolute safety.

The region has performed well its defense diplomacy tasks; effectively deployed party work, political work, logistics and technical work for the tasks; done well in mass mobilization, search and rescue work, helping people prevent and combat natural disasters; effectively carried out propaganda work on seas and islands, propaganda against illegal, unreported and unregulated (IUU) fishing, the program "Vietnam Navy as a fulcrum for fishermen to go offshore and stick to the sea", the activity "Navy sponsors fishermen's children", contributing to building a solid "people's heart position" at sea.

In the last 6 months of 2024, the Party Committee and Command of Naval Region 5 will focus on leading and directing agencies and units to perform well in military and defense work. The focus is on training, combat readiness, defense diplomacy, patrolling, reconnaissance, on-duty posts, and sea management; strictly maintaining order, regimes, forces, and means on-duty readiness, responding to incidents, natural disasters, and search and rescue; proactively grasping the situation of sea areas and military bases, promptly advising, proposing, and accurately and effectively handling situations, avoiding being passive or surprised.

Speaking at the conference, Colonel Luc Duc Tien acknowledged and commended the achievements of agencies and units in the first 6 months of 2024 and noted that Party committees and commanders at all levels need to continue to thoroughly grasp and effectively implement the set tasks and targets; proactively review, adjust and supplement operational documents; organize training, drills, and live-fire tests seriously, qualitatively and effectively; strictly manage the number of soldiers and relationships of soldiers, not to let serious violations of discipline occur, unsafety in activities, especially traffic safety...

Naval Region 5 troops donate 600m3 of fresh water to Ca Mau people

From April 18 to May 7, the Naval Region 5 Command organized the provision of free fresh water to people in drought-stricken areas in Ca Mau province.

Naval Region 5 informs more than 1,500 people in Ca Mau province about the situation of the sea and islands.

From May 21 to 24, the Naval Region 5 Command coordinated with the Propaganda Department of the Ca Mau Provincial Party Committee to organize information about the sea and islands in 3 districts: Ngoc Hien, Nam Can and Phu Tan.
