In the episode of King of Vietnamese on March 15, Ms. Phan Quynh Van (33 years old, Ba Ria - Vung Tau, interpreter) surpassed three players to enter the final round of Soan Throne. In season three, no one has won this round, so MC Xuan Bac hopes to find the owner.
In the Usurpation round, player Phan Quynh Van lost when her answer on the second line was "happy".
Player Phan Quynh Van has 60 seconds to solve the crossword puzzle to find the words in the vertical row that make sense. The Vietnamese King team gives seven available letters and four questions corresponding to the four crossword columns. Quynh Van does not take too much time to answer.
In box number two, the clue consists of two letters “H” and “Á”, the word to be found means the outward expression of happiness because of getting what one wants. The player gives the answer “Hị hà”. However, the correct answer given by the program is “Hhê hà”.
The correct answer given by the show is "hehe". The audience thinks these two words are synonymous.
Even though the remaining three questions and keywords were correct, the player did not win and went home with a prize of 5 million VND.
Many opinions on social networks said that the player’s answer “hi ha” was correct, a synonym of “he ha”. Some opinions said “hi ha” was the standard word, while “he ha” was a variation and local way of speaking. The audience did not see the appearance of the advisory board in this sentence and thought that player Phan Quynh Van deserved to win.
According to the Vietnamese Dictionary edited by Hoang Phe, ninth edition, Da Nang Publishing House in 2003, there are two words “hề hà” and “hề hà”. Page 433 of the dictionary defines “hề hà”: Expressing joy outwardly because things go as planned. For example: Talking and laughing “hề hà”. After finishing work, everyone happily left. The program Vua Tiếng Việt has made many mistakes in its first two seasons. Some language experts pointed out that VTV's program made mistakes when providing information to the players. In one episode, language researcher Hoang Tuan Cong stated that Vua Tiếng Việt made a mistake when it asserted that the word "lang lố" has no meaning, but is just a misspelling of "loang lố".
Occasionally, there are misspelled answers such as "xoàn kỳ" instead of "xoàn kỳ". In episode 28 of season 2, the show accepted the misspelled answer "chậm chè" when asking the player to choose between "trầm" or "chầm chè". Experts analyzed that in Vietnamese, there is only the word "chầm chè", there is no word spelled as the show suggested.
In another episode, two words "dùm dó" or "rùm ró" were given to the players. The correct answer of the King of Vietnamese was "rùm ró". But "dùm dó" is not misspelled either.
