On May 7, the Paris Court of Appeal will open a hearing regarding the civil lawsuit between Ms. Tran To Nga, a French citizen of Vietnamese origin, and the American chemical corporations that provided the US military with Agent Orange/dioxin for use during the Vietnam War.

In a press conference held in person and online on April 25, at the headquarters of the Association of Vietnamese in France in Paris, Ms. Tran To Nga, along with lawyers and associations supporting her legal battle, announced this event to a large number of international press representatives, including those from France and Vietnam.

Sharing with the press, Ms. Tran To Nga said she was determined to pursue the lawsuit because she saw too many victims of war. When she started the lawsuit, there were already more than 3 million victims of Agent Orange in Vietnam.

It was this number that broke her heart and motivated me to take up this case. After 12 years of pursuing justice, she realized that the number did not stop there, but reached more than 4 million victims and was passed down to the 4th generation.

Ms. Tran To Nga also said that it was a coincidence that the trial opened on the 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu victory and she hopes to become a "Dien Bien 2024 Soldier" in the historic trial of her life.

Standing side by side with Ms. Tran To Nga from the early days of the lawsuit, two lawyers, William Bourdon and Bertrand Repolt, have always volunteered to support her and millions of Vietnamese Agent Orange victims in their fight against American chemical companies.

Within the framework of the press conference, many associations supporting Vietnamese Agent Orange victims expressed solidarity with Ms. Tran To Nga.

The organization Collectif Vietnam Dioxine announced that it will hold a rally in support of Tran To Nga and other Agent Orange victims on May 4 at Place de la République in Paris. A charity dinner will also be held on the evening of April 26 to raise funds for the lawsuit.

Activities in support of Agent Orange victims will also be held within the framework of the March against agricultural chemicals on May 25 in Paris.
