Khanh Hoa Provincial Police said that as of the morning of March 30, the Criminal Police Department had summoned 80 people to take statements to serve the investigation and classification of the case.

Of these, the authorities have detained a total of 37 people to investigate the act of disturbing public order - the case has been prosecuted.

According to the investigation, Nguyen Duc Trong and Le Trung Kien had a conflict on social media. The two then arranged to meet to “resolve the conflict”. In the early morning of March 27, Trong and Kien mobilized dozens of people from Nha Trang City, Dien Khanh District and Ninh Hoa Town to go to National Highway 1 to confront each other.

When they met, the two groups rushed at each other and fought with many weapons such as knives, spears, glass bottles, pitchforks... Many people on motorbikes lined up side by side, honking their horns, causing chaos, injuring a young man.

Task Force 979 of Khanh Hoa Provincial Police coordinated with local police forces to quickly arrive and stop the incident. The two groups of young people fled, but the police seized many weapons and summoned dozens of people to the headquarters for questioning.

Authorities are continuing to investigate and prosecute related subjects.
