“Dance in the air” returns to the sky of Da Nang

The DIFF International Fireworks Festival will officially return to Da Nang with the theme "Made in Unity - Global Connection - Radiant Five Continents" with colorful artistic "aerial dances" from June 8 to July 13, 2024. This is the 12th time the International Fireworks Festival has brought unforgettable experiences to people and tourists when coming to the city of the Han River.

On the afternoon of March 23, the People's Committee of Da Nang City officially issued a plan to organize the Da Nang International Fireworks Festival - DIFF 2024 with the theme "Made in Unity - Global Connection - Shining on Five Continents". Accordingly, Sun Group continues to be a companion of the People's Committee of Da Nang City, sponsoring and organizing this year's fireworks festival.

DIFF 2024 is expected to take place from June 8 to July 13, 2024 at the fireworks stage on the Han River, with the participation of 8 fireworks teams, including 7 international teams (France, Italy, USA, Germany, Poland, China, Finland) and the Vietnamese representative team from Da Nang.

The 12th DIFF witnessed the participation of 3 rookies from Germany, China and the US, promising to bring the audience many surprises through eye-catching performances.

With the theme “Made in Unity - Global Connection - Radiant Five Continents”, DIFF 2024 marks 12 years of organization, achieving many brilliant successes and being loved by friends from five continents. This theme also conveys the message of a world of peace, friendship, humanity and honors values that inspire the community.

Accordingly, the opening night of DIFF 2024 will take place on the evening of June 8 with the theme "Made of Unique Culture - Cultural quintessence" and the opening competition between the Vietnamese team and the reigning DIFF 2023 champion - France. The following nights will witness the competition between the teams: Italy - USA (June 15) (Made of Nature Wisdom - Natural masterpiece); Germany - Poland (June 22) (Made of Love Inspiration - Magical love); China - Finland (June 29) (Made of Fairy Tales - Fairy world) and the final night will take place on July 13 with the name "Made of Young Generation - Future heartbeat". As usual, the fireworks teams will have 20-22 minutes to perform.

The opening night and final of DIFF 2024 are also expected to be broadcast live at 8:10 p.m. on VTV1, Vietnam Television.

This year, the champion team will receive 20,000 USD, a trophy and a certificate. The runner-up team will receive 10,000 USD, a trophy and a certificate. Continuing the love of the audience from DIFF 2023, DIFF 2024 will continue to have the Most Favorite award (voted by the audience), with a prize of 5,000 USD, a trophy and a certificate.

Last held in the summer of 2023, DIFF became a magnet attracting visitors to Da Nang, helping the tourism industry of the Han River city make a spectacular breakthrough after Covid-19.

According to statistics, during the June 2023 Festival, the total number of guests served by accommodation establishments is estimated to reach nearly 706,000 - an increase of 34.1% compared to the same period in 2022. Room occupancy during this period often reaches 70%; revenue from accommodation and catering services reaches 1,874 billion VND. The number of flights to Da Nang is up to 150 flights/day (1.5 times higher than usual).

In addition, a series of events accompanying DIFF 2024 is expected to be held on a large scale, with rich and attractive content from exhibitions to art and cultural performances, spread across Da Nang. A series of famous tourist and entertainment destinations in the city such as Sun World Ba Na Hills, Asia Park... will organize many festivals, music and art events that are especially attractive during this year's fireworks season.

In particular, according to the representative of the Organizing Committee, to kick off this year's fireworks season, the city is expected to treat visitors to a Jetski & Flyboards extreme sports performance performed by Australian manufacturer H2O. The performance promises to be the highlight that makes DIFF 2024 completely different from previous seasons.

The return of the Da Nang International Fireworks Festival marks an important step forward in positioning this beautiful coastal city on the international tourism map. DIFF 2024 is expected to continue to be a highlight event, bringing a sumptuous "summer party", attracting visitors from all over to the city of the Han River, contributing to helping the city become a global convergence point, "Asia's Leading Festival and Event Destination" as honored twice by the World Travel Awards.
