Vinapharm grows strongly, integrates internationally

After more than a year of transferring state capital from the Ministry of Health to the State Capital Investment Corporation (SCIC), Vietnam Pharmaceutical Corporation - JSC (Vinapharm) has promoted its potential, improved operational efficiency, thereby optimizing the value of shareholders' capital.

Optimize business operations

Pursuant to SCIC's direction, Vinapharm has urgently developed and completed the Restructuring Project and approved by the Annual General Meeting of Shareholders on April 23, 2024. Vinapharm has been actively implementing the Project's contents with the goal of optimizing business operations, governance efficiency and promoting sharing in SCIC's pharmaceutical portfolio.

Vinapharm's business results according to the consolidated financial report for the first 9 months of 2024 recorded a high growth rate, increasing by 21% in total revenue and 24% in pre-tax profit compared to the same period last year, reaching 96% of the total revenue plan and exceeding 4% of the pre-tax profit plan set for the whole year of 2024.

Vinapharm's Board of Directors always emphasizes the importance of harmoniously combining the creativity and dynamism of the staff with Vinapharm's strategic vision, as well as always focusing on building a plan to develop the next generation to bring the business to sustainable development.

Vinapharm is committed to contributing to the sustainable development of society, demonstrating corporate responsibility to the country and community.

In line with the Government's policies and guidelines, following the SCIC's direction, Vinapharm has been and continues to seek international partners to cooperate in investing in building manufacturing plants, receiving technology transfer and/or distributing pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical products, especially those with high technology content, contributing to bringing modern, safe and effective healthcare solutions to the Vietnamese people.

In early July 2024 in Korea, under the witness of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, Vinapharm and Celltrion Pharmaceutical Group (Korea) signed a Memorandum of Understanding. This is an important basis for sustainable cooperation between the two parties to serve the goal of early commercialization of Celltrion products in the Vietnamese market through the distribution system of Vinapharm's subsidiaries, while conducting surveys, analysis and evaluation to determine market demand and scale, consider technology transfer and investment in building the first biopharmaceutical product factory in Vietnam.

Affirming position in domestic and international markets

In addition to production and business tasks, Vinapharm and its member companies always join hands with the Government, the Ministry of Health and the people of the whole country to make every effort to contribute to the implementation of social security policies and community health care. With the spirit of mutual love and solidarity, joining hands to ensure the health of our compatriots as well as overcome the consequences of storm No. 3 (Yagi), Vinapharm and a number of member units have donated medicine supplies including essential medicines to people in flood-hit areas.

On October 3, 2024, at the 2024 Asia Pacific Enterprise Awards (APEA) Ceremony, Vinapharm, continued to affirm its position as the only pharmaceutical corporation in the Vietnamese pharmaceutical industry with a dominant capital contribution from a state-owned enterprise, for the second time successfully participated in the category of Asia's Excellent Enterprise, evaluated and voted by Enterprise Asia.

Also at the APEA 2024 Awards Ceremony, Ms. Han Thi Khanh Vinh, Board Member and General Director of Vinapharm, was honored to receive the Asian Entrepreneur of the Year Award. This is a memorable milestone in the journey of development and tireless dedication of Ms. Han Thi Khanh Vinh after more than a year as CEO of a company that has been operating for more than 50 years in the pharmaceutical industry. Under the leadership of Ms. Han Thi Khanh Vinh, Vinapharm has made strong changes, changed its governance structure, continued to expand and develop cooperative relationships with foreign partners.

Along with production and business activities, brand development and performing tasks assigned by the Government and the Ministry of Health, Vinapharm is committed to contributing to the sustainable development of society, demonstrating corporate responsibility to the country and community.
