Domestic pepper prices updated on the morning of March 31, 2025

According to statistics, pepper prices last week fluctuated less than the previous week, trading mainly around 159,000 - 160,000 VND/kg. The world market was stable, except for Indonesian pepper prices which decreased last week.

Experts say that domestic pepper prices are currently stable thanks to farmers' hoarding mentality. Meanwhile, although pepper output this year is relatively stable, actual supply is still limited, causing local shortages in the market in some localities. Farmers currently tend to hold onto their goods waiting for prices to increase further, so selling pressure is not great.

In the international market, pepper prices may continue to increase, especially black pepper, thanks to strong demand from major markets.

According to experts' forecasts, pepper prices are likely to continue to increase due to demand from major markets and a shortage of supply. With demand remaining stable and far exceeding supply, pepper prices are likely to increase rather than decrease.

With factors such as scarce supply, stable demand and farmers' hoarding mentality, pepper prices are likely to remain high in the coming time. Export enterprises are also actively purchasing to ensure the supply of goods for foreign partners, creating favorable conditions for domestic pepper prices.

According to Ptexim's estimates, Vietnam is likely to export only 16,000 to 18,000 tons of pepper in March. Thus, the total export volume in the first 3 months of 2025 will be around 43,000 - 45,000 tons, the lowest in the past 6 years.
