Vietravel brings warm Mid-Autumn Festival to children in the highlands

Phạm Công ĐảoPhạm Công Đảo19/09/2023

"Happiness is not only the destination, but also the journey we are on." Vietravel always emphasizes the experience and emotions of tourists in each trip. Therefore, the company has constantly tried and innovated to bring journeys of emotional sublimation. And charity tourism is such a product, not simply about discovery, but also about spreading love, giving and receiving.

Vietravel's meaningful Charity Tourism Program was launched in 2012 in the Northeastern provinces such as Ha Giang, Son La, Cao Bang, etc., bringing joy not only to students in remote areas, but also leaving many impressions in the hearts of participating tourists.

On September 15, 2023, Vietravel Hanoi continued to organize a tour to Hoang Su Phi (Ha Giang) combined with giving charity gifts at Ban Phung Primary Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities - Ban Phung Commune, Hoang Su Phi District, Ha Giang.

When travel is not simply about discovery, but also about love, and spreading…

It is known that Ban Phung Primary School is one of the disadvantaged schools in Ban Phung Commune, Hoang Su Phi District with 290 students, including 180 boarding students. 100% of the students at the school are La Chi ethnic people - one of the ethnic minorities with difficult lives, farming and raising livestock in the highlands, with quite rugged terrain but still preserving the traditional cultural characteristics of their people. Up to now, almost all of the concentrated settlement areas, terraced farming methods, house architecture, community festivals and folk games... are still intact.

Although Ban Phung Primary School has just received support from some benefactors to rebuild the classroom system, the facilities and equipment in the boarding area and kitchen are still facing many difficulties and shortages, and are in great need of support and sharing from kind-hearted people.

During the program, many meaningful gifts were given to teachers and 180 boarding students with difficult circumstances at the school: TV, rice cooker, water tank, dining table and chairs, trays, felt blankets, warm clothes,... with a total value of about 100 million VND.

In particular, the charity program took place right on the occasion of the upcoming Mid-Autumn Festival, Vietravel also gave the children traditional star lanterns and candy packages to bring some joy to the children on this occasion.

The charity program is supported by Vietravel with 100% of the travel and gift transportation costs. In addition, with each registered tour, tourists have donated 300,000 VND to the gift fund for disadvantaged students. Participating in the charity tour, tourists are directly given school supplies, equipment, scholarships, food for schools, cultural and artistic exchanges, and learn about the lives of local students and teachers.

Empathy, sharing and leaving an impression on visitors

Ms. Pham Thi Thu Ha - Principal of Ban Phung Primary Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities said: "Vietravel's charity program has helped 180 students have more warm blankets and life jackets to get through the cold winter; at the same time, it also donated many practical items such as TVs, rice cookers, water tanks, food trays, tables and chairs, etc. so that boarding students have better conditions when living at school."

Throughout the journey, we kept humming along to the melody of the song: "Children go to school, carrying white clouds on their heads; Feet step on the sun, lips smile and cheeks are sunny; Smiles make the troubled heart suddenly become straight; Coming up here and seeing you, I feel so lucky..." The lyrics of the song "Cooking for you" by Den Vau are truly true to the image of the La Chi ethnic students here, and really similar to the feelings of our charity group - sympathy, love and eagerness to meet you soon.

It takes 4 hours to travel from Hanoi to Bac Ha, then more than 3 hours from Bac Ha to Hoang Su Phi with a rather long and difficult route. But once witnessing the smiles on the lips of ethnic children when they wear warm clothes, hold colorful star lanterns in their hands or receive candy packages prepared by tourists and Vietravel staff; all difficulties and barriers of geographical distance and culture seem to be erased.

“One of the great things about Vietravel’s program is the professionalism in each stage of preparation and the meaning that the program wants to bring. Coming to Hoang Su Phi, we can feel that the lives of the students here are still very deprived, the road to school is also difficult and far away. If normally, before each trip, our motivation is one, then when participating in this program, our motivation will be multiplied by three or four times.” - Ms. Mai Huong - a tourist on the trip emotionally shared.

Enjoy the ripe rice season in Hoang Su Phi in September and October

This charity trip is also a bridge to bring tourists closer to Hoang Su Phi land - an ideal place to see the ripe rice season on the Northeast route this autumn.

The most beautiful season of the year in Hoang Su Phi is autumn (from September to October) when the golden terraced fields spread across the hillsides and mountainsides, creating an extremely unique, majestic, and one-of-a-kind natural wonder.

One of the most beautiful places to see ripe rice in Hoang Su Phu is Ban Phung - where the La Chi people live the most. Ban Phung has very high terraced fields, winding and overlapping, running from the stream to the top of the mountain and interspersed with primeval forests and ancient tea plantations. Under the honey-like sunlight, the terraced fields transform from endless green to immense yellow, skillfully showing off all their inherent beauty.

After visiting and giving gifts to the students of Ban Phung Primary School with Vietravel, you will have the opportunity to wander along the "photo-hunting" roads during the ripe rice season and capture the images of each "wave" of golden rice undulating from the deep valley to the deep blue horizon.

After leaving Hoang Su Phi, it only takes 2 hours by car, the 3-day-2-night tour with Vietravel will take you to Bac Ha White Plateau (Lao Cai). Coming here on the weekend, you also have the opportunity to visit Bac Ha market, feel the life of local people through the crowded atmosphere, buy countless highland specialties and enjoy the delicious flavors of the dishes.

Or visit the King Hoang A Tuong Palace to discover the unique architecture with the East-West imprint combined with thrilling stories about the owner of the house, traces of human life in the highlands of Bac Ha (Lao Cai) during the semi-feudal colonial period.

Following the success of this trip, Vietravel will organize another Charity Tourism program on November 4-5 with the experience of hunting clouds in Ta Xua combined with visiting and giving gifts to Ban Tro B Primary School.

This is one of the most beautiful cloud hunting spots in the Northwest, especially from November to April of the following year. In addition to moments of admiring the clouds, visitors can also take pictures with famous destinations: dinosaur spine, dolphin beak, lonely apple tree, ...

In particular, with the 2-day-1-night package tour price of only 1.99 million VND/person, when joining the journey with Vietravel, you have donated 300,000 VND to the charity fund, contributing to "lighting up" the smiles of the students here.
