Vietnam welcomes 10 million international visitors, European visitors skyrocket

In the first seven months of 2024, international visitors to our country reached nearly 10 million, an increase of 51% over the same period last year. Of which, the number of visitors from European countries recorded a sharp increase.

According to the General Statistics Office, in July, Vietnam welcomed 1.15 million arrivals. international visitors, up 10.9% over the same period last year. In the first 7 months of 2024, international visitors to our country reached nearly 10 million, up 51% over the same period last year and up 1.9% over the same period in 2019 - the year before the Covid-19 pandemic.

In particular, the tourism industry recorded strong growth in the number of visitors from Europe, with an increase of 47.3%, other markets also had high growth such as Asia with 57.1% (mainly due to the increase in Chinese visitors), Australia 27.3% and America increased 9.7%...

South Korea and China are still the two largest international tourist markets for Vietnam tourism. Although the number of visitors in July decreased compared to June (310,000 and 249,200 respectively), in the first seven months of this year, Chinese visitors still increased by 190%, and South Korean visitors increased by 37.2% compared to the same period last year.

In the top list of markets with a large number of international visitors to Vietnam in July, there are also Taiwan (China) with 101,465 arrivals, the United States with 62,900 arrivals, Japan with 44,569 arrivals, Australia with 37,853 arrivals,...

In particular, the number of visitors from Europe recorded strong growth, with the total number of visitors in July being more than 103,000, an increase of 9.4% over the previous month.

Of which, Russian visitors increased by 75.7%, Italian by 61%, French visitors increased by 33.4%, British visitors increased by 25.2%, Spanish by 38.3%, German by 27.4%,...

Thanks to the favorable visa policy, the efforts of management agencies, tourism businesses and localities in promoting and advertising tourism, the number of European visitors to Vietnam has increased compared to the same period last year, even during the low season.
